I am saying it never should have been allowed to happen in the first place.

I am referring to any-and-all land.

A 'non profit' is not an individual.

A 'mutual fund' is not an individual.

An 'individual' is a flesh-and-blood living human being with a soul.
A farm is a business, why can't you have shareholders? A partnership is a business, why should you only allow partnership for farms but not corporations?

Once you have a corporation the stock holders could be from anywhere in the world.

I agree with your righteous point. Nobody has a right to deny another the God given right to ownership and food production. To deny that someone is to violate God's command to Adam and hence all of mankind. That said, in agriculture the major corporations learned how to put nearly all of their competition out of business. The common family farmers used to dominate. Now the mega agriculture industries have bought politicians to implement the legislation that these companies wrote. There is a very small fraction of small independent farms that still exist after 50 years. They are slaves to the system and must absorb the costs and extra labor that corporate competition has shoveled upon them. Their tactics and logistical means have worked for them for a century. I believe that they will attempt the same upon the common gardeners in the near future. Right now Robert Barnes is helping an Amish farmer that might have a case that makes a big difference in this regard.

Total control of food
You can easily grow enough food to feed your family in your back yard. In your house you could easily grow enough to make a major supplement to your diet (unless you have a really big house in which case you could grow all the food you could eat. I just don't see the cops going door to door pulling out house plants.

I lived in a suburb of NYC, my dad planted a garden in a small side yard, not that big and not a lot of light and yet we were able to produce all the vegetables a family of six needed during the summer (not year round, but for two-three months). We also had a small boat and fished in Long Island Sound. I would completely fill our freezer with fish that we ate year round. We still had to buy food but this made a major dent in our annual food budget. Anyone with a yard has as much land as we used for that garden. Inside your house you definitely have enough room to grow herbs and maybe a tomato plant. But it depends on how big the house is, does it have a sun room, etc.

Do you have a mini food forest?

You might be interested in this channel and getting started again. I suggest that for everyone.

No sun room, enough south facing windows, or sunshine to grow anything more than mold and mildew in the winter. I run a dehumidifier and decided to no longer raise more than a rosemary plant this year. Watering plants every other day puts a lot of humidity into the air, grows fungus, molds and mildew and must have plenty of grow lights. My friends and neighbors were given gormet superfood perennials that do well in their zone. There was little to no interest. I was given a sucker fruit tree that I was to keep potted and bring in for 8 months only to get a few pounds of produce for a short time. After 3 + years I got nothing but a burned sapling that was having a hard summer. It's not worth the trouble IMHO. HOWEVER, things like peppers can be restarted from roots as perennials (IF brought in and kept dormant) to get a head start for the next spring . That makes more sense to me.
It sounds like your present experience is more positive. Good , do what works.

Yes, if I were to plant a garden it would definitely be heavy with trees, basil, and tomatoes.

I did not say you could not have any of that - only that an individual must/would own the land.

Are you saying a corporation is an individual? Because when the corporation owns the farm they own the land.

No.

Not in the scenario I am talking about...

In the scenario I am talking about - there are no corporations.

Companies - yes - owned and operated by the land owner(s).

But, no corporations - not allowed to exist in this country.

You got to think-outside-of-the-box on this concept... ;)

And in this scenario what do you do about all the corporations that currently own land, own farms, own ranches, buildings, etc?

You are still in-the-box...

My only intent was to introduce the concept. I really don't want to get into a discussion of how we get from-here-to-there. It is not a simple 5-minute 1-post answer. I don't want to spend that much time on it. Sorry.

We all know it has no chance of existing this side of the Second Coming of Christ. (And, probably not the other side either.)

It is mostly just something that comes from a thought-process consideration of possible scenarios...

:)

This thread is getting confusing. First, ZNP said he was in his house on a different thread, and now he is in a box. Which is it? And second, does thought exercise require any additional training equipment like a hamster wheel?

maybe a thought exercise explains what we are seeing with these animals, insects, birds and fish.

Perhaps. Do you believe as the speaker? Not his conclusion concerning the reason for the animal behavior, but the doctrine he espouses?

What doctrine does he espouse?

That's awesome but I think he was implying much more.
well, the doctrine I would espouse is that all of creation is groaning until the sons of God are revealed.

I said this because I have been spending less-and-less time on CC in recent days. I don't mean to be "anti-social" or anything - I just need to spend more of my time on 'IRL' things...
