What Jesus says about Himself really matters/scriptures

Jesus Says He Is The Bread Of Life The Lord Jesus claims Himself as the bread of life and he who seeks him will never remain hungry. Because he is the source of spiritual food and no one will remain incomplete when he decides to receive him as his God and deliverer.

It just occurred to me yesterday that Jesus was also the substitute for us as a sin offering and wouldn't He have mentioned that too? I looked at the list on the link but don't see that. After a second look, it seems these are sayings of Jesus when He was here as a man. Guess I need to look elsewhere about Him being our substitute and also as our substitute He 'accepted' all our sins. Hard to Comprehend.

(that account is a prophetic figure of this )

There’s always deep ot meaning in what Jesus said of himself they were promising him beforehand

When he’s saying things about himself he’s hearkening back to prophecy and the law to explain that he’s the one they we’re talking about all along

to Moses and the children of Israel was given manna that fell from heaven because they needed sustenance. It’s a figure of Christ who came to give us life and sustain us with our “daily bread “

another reference to manna which fell daily and they gathered what they needed and ate daily and the bread kept them alive for a time when they needed it

It’s also like our Passover feast when the body and blood of a spotless lamb saved them from death in the ot

This revelation is critical, since Christ said that if you do not believe that He is "I AM" you will die in your sins. The "he" and "me" of verse 5 are Jesus. So are the "I" and "me" in verse 7. This is actually a direct quote from Psalm 40:6 in the Septuagint or in the Greek translation of the Old Testament.

Here, Jesus is heard speaking in the first person, and he declares that God prepared a body for him that was going to be offered or sacrificed in the stead of the Old Testament burnt offerings and sacrifices that God had no real pleasure in. Those sacrifices merely foreshadowed Christ's sacrifice which was to come, and it is only through this sacrifice that we can truly be sanctified or set apart unto God.
