Happy New Year, friend.

I don't mind the wisecracks. It shows me fairly quickly who is here to genuinely learn something, and who is here to oppose and obscure the truth.

I particularly like it when a denier (maybe some are not trolls) deny the obvious truth, and then I get to point out where they are obviously wrong. And then they make out as if they didn't understand in the first place. The exchange tends to go like this.

Me: Obvious truth demonstrating point.
Denier: Denial of obvious truth.
Me: Example of obvious truth demonstrating point - and a mild jab at the denier's competence in the field given the denial.
Denier: Backtrack "Uh - I don't understand the question." Projection. "That mild jab applies to you!" Change the subject to a slightly different one, to hide the error, or a story that would indicate denier would have or should have had the knowledge not to have denied the obvious truth. "Well, of course I've been in a plane - in my younger days, I was quite the pilot..."

See this exchange below, posted for your amusement as well as mine.

Okay. End of exchange. Back to my response to you, now.
Lol. :p
How can you not laugh. That much ingenuity should also be applauded but we are only allowed one response.

I just learned of this so for me that makes it perfect timing given this is New Years eve.

In 2022 it was flat earth theory. Now with this post on the eve of 2023 I introduce you to donut earth theory.
No, this isn't satire. It's real. 🍩😳

''Donut earth subscribers believe that there’s a huge hole in the planet. They hypothesize that because “light bends and follows the curvature of the torus” the hole, as a result, is ‘unseeable’. ''
https://indie88.com/step-aside-flat-earthers-donut-earth-theory-is-here/amp/
It's spelt incorrectly. it should be Taurus. As in Bull.

Would this be a comedy sketch, or another flat earth/heliocentric debate?
It's hard to predict the future Gary, especially when it's a hypothetical question.

So, it would be more a comedy than?
Well - if it is hypothetical...

I am leaning very heavily in the comical direction - I don't think I get nearly enough of that...

(comedy is more fun - and - well - more comical...)

:)

It would be some of both. Each is both smart and humorously snarky.
Snarky? Me? Wow, I never thought I would see that word used to describe me...

If you take the meaning of that word - subtract out the "negative intent" part of it - that I could imagine.

The intent is usually to "keep it light around here" - some people on here start taking things a little too personally if you don't...
I can assure you that snarky was a term of endearment as you describe.
Oh well - in that case - as long as it is humorously snarky...

Did it come naturally, or did you have to force it? Did it hurt much? :geek:

:p  :giggle:
You know how women always whine that giving birth hurts so much? Well, that is nothing compared to what I had to go through to squeeze out a laugh! :p

You can be in but I'm not paying extra.
Alright, they can have their sketch comedy debate, I'll sit out.

Caveman have to set up their own platform. It might be just sticks, stones, and dinosaur bones for an audience, but who said, the majority was right?!?!

I was thinking, maybe I should find a Professor Dave debate with a flat earther, than edit the video to have a Concave Hollow Earth perspective. Sorta like what Libertarians do, because they are not invited to debates either.

But you were invited

Was it a good long belly laugh or just a little 'hehe' and-that-was-it...?
