What is the Gospel? It is mostly found in the Greek portion of the Bible. Who is Jesus, What was his purpose, What is the Kingdom of God and what is our work to contribute to this gospel. It the whole second half of the Bible with all it's direction, knowledge and story of how others performed their part for us to emmulate.

The Gospel is the Message we carry... we're to go and tell others the Good News... Jesus Christ is risen and lives, therefore, all that believe in Jesus Christ and receive Him as Savior, Lord and King shall also live and not perish!

God loves us and does not want to live without us. He is saving us! Hallelujah!! It is Good News!

There is a new Heaven and a new Earth and a new Jerusalem that is coming!!! Wooooohoooo! All is well!

This thread is a mishmash of ideas but avoids going to the heart of the matter: "What is the Gospel?". The Gospel has several designations but it is all ONE GOSPEL, and all its facets are important.

1. The Gospel of the Kingdom focuses on Christ as King of kings and Lord of lords, not only as King/Messiah of Israel (whom Israel rejected).

2. The Gospel of Jesus Christ the Son of God focuses on the fact that the eternal Son of God became Jesus of Nazareth to die for our sins, and after His resurrection to be declared both Lord and Christ.

3. The Gospel of the Grace of God focuses on the fact that it is only and purely because of the grace of God that humanity has a Savior and all may be saved.

4. The Gospel of God focuses on the fact that the Gospel is supernatural and originated with God. No human being could invent such a marvellous Gospel.

5. The Gospel of Christ is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth.

6. The Gospel of Your Salvation is the Good News that every sinner who believes on the Savior will be saved from Hell.

So that there would be no doubt about the core of the Gospel, the Holy Spirit directed the apostle Paul to write these words in 1 Corinthians 15:1-4: Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the Gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; 2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. 3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

It is the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ which is at the heart of the Gospel. And it assumes that JESUS IS GOD WHO DIED FOR MANKIND AND IT IS THE BLOOD OF GOD WHICH HAS PURCHASED OUR REDEMPTION (Acts 20:28). Most Christians do not realize that when the Gospel is preached, God is COMMANDING sinners to repent and believe on the Lord Jesus Christ: 30 And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent: 31 Because He hath appointed a day, in the which He will judge the world in righteousness by that Man [Christ] whom He hath ordained; whereof He hath given assurance unto all men, in that He hath raised Him from the dead. (Acts 17:30,31)

So anyone reading this who is not saved must either obey God's command to obey the Gospel, or face extremely serious consequences. The Lord Jesus Christ will be the Judge of all mankind.

I can tell you what it's not. It's not the kingdom now idea that teaches that we as believers must establish the kingdom on earth first before the Lord can return. The "gospel of the kingdom" is salvation and forgiveness of sins through Jesus' death, burial and resurrection. This is what must be preached.
