I have e opposite opinion. I think right wing conservatives were rejoicing about her being locked up just because she's LGBT
Kind of comes across as boot licking in my opinion.
Nobody deserves 9 years over weed Vapes
It's Russia!
And I think they hit her with near double the usual sentence for Russians in possession of small quantities for two reasons.

Her disrespect for their laws as a guest in country. Special privilege does not 2xist there. And as a poker chip in negotiating the release of one of their citizens held in our prisons. And that turned out to be a notorious arms dealer.

I think the three Americans held far longer already should have been freed instead. I think the reason they're not is because they're dead.

I think her sentence was deserved.

All the more reason for the entire free world to just cut them off. No trade, nothing
Bankrupt them. They will have to capitulate eventually
That is not how you make peace. You are choosing a path where nuclear war is the only option.

Nah.. I get she broke the law but the punishment should fit the crime.
I know I don't have any say so and what another country does but these type of prison sentences over a cannabis product is just wasting taxpayer money

But it is Russia. And there citizens face as much as 5 years for a small amount of cannabis or other drug.

She was a guest on a travel visa and thought she had a special right to be immune from their laws. Plus she lied to authorities claiming she didn't pack her own bag. Which is a question our airport security asks when making departure from this country.

Either way she served long enough to prayerfully learn a lesson.

There is a "broken windows" theory of law enforcement. You prosecute people who jump turnstyles and break windows and you fix up these dilapidated buildings and by doing so you eliminate the environment where people feel petty crime is OK. By doing so they saw major felonies also decrease dramatically.

How do you know where to buy Fentanyl? How does the drug dealer know he can trust you? It may be that many people who use cannabis don't graduate to harder drugs, but on the other hand, how many people who use fentanyl never used pot?

It is easier for a drug dealer to let you know who sells pot, the penalty is much less. Then even if he doesn't sell harder drugs he can probably refer you to someone who does, etc.

Perhaps the Lord was using Russia to speak to her about her disrespect towards America.

The Lord Jesus said to forgive those who trespass against you so that your heavenly father could forgive you your trespasses.

Not until States made hemp legal most States held to a 3 year sentence for paraphernalia and 5 to 10 sentence for a joint.

That was less than 5 years ago.

In Indiana you still get full max sentence.

Russia actually was within the sentence time of most of the usa.

So what are you talking about?

Yeah funny how America prides itself on being the land of the free but the cops will kick down your door over a plant.
Imagine the astronomical amount of taxpayer money America has wasted locking people up over a plant
Just take about 30 billion dollars a year and flush it down the toilet. You will get a similar result

Yes for reasons I expressed above. It's a waste of taxpayer money that could be better used elsewhere
40% of all criminal court cases in America are nonviolent drug crimes
American incarcerates more people than every other country combined

Remember back in the '80s when it was revealed that military was spending like $600 a piece on toilet seats or like $7,000 for a coffee brewer?

Yes I'm glad Britney is back home. I don't know why anyone willingly goes to Russia anyway. They would probably give you a hundred years for speeding on the sidewalk there

People have been experimenting with this technology for decades. It could potentially help people whose brains have been damaged by stroke or injury
liberal discussion playbook.

1. claim subject does not exist.

2. when shown proof of said subject, reverse course and say it does exist and is a good thing.

3. repeat first two steps ad nauseam.

No one is not happy Britney is back home.

We just are aware that she would have eventually been released but the person who deserved to be released this past swap should have been the one who has been there the longest outside of the fact he is an actual Military Hero who just got screwed by his own President of the Nation he fought for.

I have heard that her return among people who watch the WNBA is a very big deal, though to be fair, I have never actually met someone who watches the WNBA.
