“Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.

The unregenerate will not keep God's spiritual commandments, that he cannot discern, and thinks them to be foolishness. That is why thee scriptures are directed to his born again children. For this is the whole duty of man (regenerate)

For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.”
‭‭Ecclesiastes‬ ‭12:13-14‬ ‭KJV‬‬
"The every work" (of the regenerate).
Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, ( I’m aware of it so ) we persuade men; but we are made manifest unto God; and I trust also are made manifest in your consciences.”
‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭5:10-11‬ ‭KJV‬‬
We persuade regenerate men. The lost sheep of the house of Israel.

By now, you should get my point, that the scriptures are not written to the unregenerate, So, the "every man", "all men", "God so loved the world", "saved" "given life" are directed to the regenerate.

If you could get your head wrapped around this fact, all of the scriptures would harmonize for you.

Rom 2:7 . .To those who by perseverance in doing good seek glory, honor, and
immortality, He will give eternal life.

Webster's defines "perseverance" as: continued effort to do or achieve something
despite difficulties, failure, or opposition, viz: steadfastness.

In other words: in order to attain to eternal life in doing good, one's good must be
consistent, i.e. it can't be 100% today and then 95% tomorrow-- no, it has to be
100% every day because that 5% deficit will kill their chances of success.

* As a general rule: Catholics are not allowed to believe themselves capable of
perseverance.

"If anyone says that he will for certain, with an absolute and infallible certainty, have
that great gift of perseverance even to the end, unless he shall have learned this by a
special revelation, let him be anathema." (Council of Trent Session 6, Chapter 16, Canon 16)

Well hi all. I really would like it if its ok for some to please if your posting a verse maybe post it like its written as you read it? Yeah its not huge, bold fonts. For me its hard to read. Caps never makes me feel your yelling. Oh but this for me comes across as your upset and your yelling. Try just saying it out loud. As the text gets bolder and bigger raise your voice. Yeah thats how it comes across to me.

For me I find it better to read above a verse and below. A few are taken out of context. Anyway I think Christ said it best " Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life. He does not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life."

This is about judgment as in bema seat. That moment can not be about anything other the rewards. Well no sin I have ever done or will do He remembers. HAHA this will go over good. If I sin and then die I go right to heaven/paradise. He already died for my sins. Am I righteous or not? Who is the old man who is the new man? Yes look in the mirror thats the old man that still loves to sin. You now are the new creation the new man which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness. Paul said its no longer I that sin but sin that is in me. Hmm seems I can feely sin now woot! NO God forbid! I don't believe there is one here that feels like that. See where the judgment comes in is when you reject Christ and the Cross and then freely sin. We all sorry like it or not believe it or not have at some point willingly sinned. You never once rejected what Christ died for. You always felt bad and repented. Its about those that reject the cross know about it but freely sin anyway.

Its meat. Some wont except this not knowing that alone hurts Him. He took it all paid the price we were meant for. I don't know maybe like a new car yet the body is old rust looking. Thats all some see yet its not you thats the flesh. You never want to but the flesh loves to aka meat. No longer you that sin but sin that is in you. Your free your born from above.

So bema I am rewarded or not. It for me what I believe. I really pray we remember the weak in the faith. We can put so many stumbling blocks up not even caring what they think or feel just as long as we make our point. Just keep your eyes on Him always thinking about Him and He will guide your path and keep you in perfect peace. If you miss it get up dust off.. aka repent keep going. Don't believe me.. read His word and ask HIm

2 Corinthians 5:10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each of us may receive what is due us for the things done while in the body, whether good or bad.
There are verses that state that we are not judged.

John 3:18
He who believes in Him is not judged; he who does not believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

John 5:24
Truly, truly, I say to you, he who hears My word, and believes Him who sent Me, has eternal life, and does not come into judgment, but has passed out of death into life.

1 John 4:17
By this, love is perfected with us, so that we may have confidence in the day of judgment; because as He is, so also are we in this world.

1 Corinthians 6:2
Or do you not know that the saints will judge the world? If the world is judged by you, are you not competent to constitute the smallest law courts?

It’s as if you don’t even understand who Jesus is and what the gospel is

“The beginning of the gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God; “ mark 1:1

“Now after that John was put in prison,

Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God, and saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.”
‭‭Mark‬ ‭1:14-15‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, Because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; He hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, And recovering of sight to the blind, To set at liberty them that are bruised, To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.

And he began to say unto them, This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears. And he said unto them,

I must preach the kingdom of God to other cities also: for therefore am I sent.”
‭‭Luke‬ ‭4:18-19, 21, 43‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“And he sent them to preach the kingdom of God, and to heal the sick. And they departed, and went through the towns, preaching the gospel, and healing every where.”
‭‭Luke‬ ‭9:2, 6‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭24:14‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭24:35‬ ‭

“And the gospel must first be published among all nations.”
‭‭Mark‬ ‭13:10‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“And he said unto them,

Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved;

but he that believeth not shall be damned.”
‭‭Mark‬ ‭16:15-16‬ ‭

“And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭28:18-20‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.

….And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.”
‭‭Acts‬ ‭2:14, 41-47‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“As for Saul, he made havock of the church, entering into every house, and haling men and women committed them to prison.

Therefore they that were scattered abroad went every where preaching the word. Then Philip went down to the city of Samaria, and preached Christ unto them.”
‭‭Acts‬ ‭8:3-5‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, separated unto the gospel of God, concerning his Son Jesus Christ our Lord,
‭‭Romans‬ ‭1:1,‭KJV‬‬

“And now, behold, I know that ye all, among whom I have gone preaching the kingdom of God, shall see my face no more.”
‭‭Acts‬ ‭20:25‬ ‭

“Be it known therefore unto you, that the salvation of God is sent unto the Gentiles, and that they will hear it.

And Paul dwelt two whole years in his own hired house, and received all that came in unto him, preaching the kingdom of God, and teaching those things which concern the Lord Jesus Christ, with all confidence, no man forbidding him.”
‭‭Acts‬ ‭28:28, 30-31‬ ‭KJV‬‬

grace through faith

“So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭10:17‬ ‭

The gospel is Gods word of everlasting life we are purchased by his blood

Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.”

He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day.

“Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.”

The gospel is never going to change from what’s written in the four gospels that is Paul’s gospel of grace , gospel of Hope , gospel of salvstion everything he says is talking about what’s Jesus said , and what Jesus did the things we find in the four gospel accounts of Jesus birth , life , ministry , miraculous ability , his suffering , death and resurrection and his ascention into heaven when the four gospels end thier accoint

You can’t remove what Jesus said from what he did a covenant requires a word from God and blood shed for remission you don’t remove the gospel from the gospel and call it a different gospel salvstion will never change from what the lord made clear and plain

In Christ's Beautiful Sermon on the Mount, He told us what to do - abundant acts of Mercy like loving the Poor, forgiving our neighbor, even our enemies, and and other works of kindness and of love - to obtain a milder Judgment and higher Rewards.

St. James says the same in his Epistle. In the same Epistle, the Apostle also teaches the righteousness that begins with faith is completed and made perfect by good works. Some emphasize faith and that's fine. Faith is important. Good works, though, complete and perfect faith, like Abraham, who is called the Father of faith, did, for e.g. by offering his son on the Altar for Love of God.

Luke 6 Do Not Judge
37“Judge not, and you shall not be judged. Condemn not, and you shall not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven. 38Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you.”

The meaning imo is not "never to judge at all" but always to judge with mercy and not harshly and severely; and that is confirmed in the subsequent passages, which says, do not rashly condemn others, and you too will not be condemned at the Judgment. The Lord is speaking to believers in Him here and He doesn't say none of them will be judged.

James 2: Judgment and Mercy:

"12So speak and so do as those who will be judged by the law of liberty. 13For judgment is without mercy to the one who has shown no mercy. Mercy triumphs over judgment."

From Jesus the Lord to James His Apostle, the Biblical principle is clear; show much mercy, and you will receive much mercy on Judgment Day. Preserve unfailingly your faith in Our Lord Jesus, for without faith in Him no one can be saved. And do many good works before this short life ends, for each good work will be rewarded. If we judge others without mercy, we too may be judged severely, for e.g. by losing rewards, going through the fire 1 Cor 3:15 speaks of, and so on.

God Bless.

For e.g. Mat 6:22 mentions a great reward in Heaven for those who either are martyred or persecuted for the Lord's Sake:

Mat 6: Blessed are you when you suffer for Christ:

"22Blessed are you when men hate you,
And when they exclude you,
And revile you, and cast out your name as evil,
For the Son of Man’s sake.
23Rejoice in that day and leap for joy!
For indeed your reward is great in heaven,
For in like manner their fathers did to the prophets. "

And as for Good Works completing and Perfecting our Faith in Our Lord Jesus, James 2 mentions that also, with 2 OT Examples: Abraham and Rahab.

James 2: Faith without works is dead; Works complete Faith and make it Perfect:

20But do you want to know, O foolish man, that faith without works is dead? 21Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered Isaac his son on the altar? 22Do you see that faith was working together with his works, and by works faith was made perfect?

Pardon my ignorance, but what is "Bema Seat Judgement"? I don't see that worded in the KJV.
It is also called the Judgement Seat of Christ.

Romans 14:10
"But why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou set at nought thy brother? for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ.

Well no sin I have ever done or will do He remembers. HAHA this will go over good. If I sin and then die I go right to heaven/paradise.
Were the Galatians Paul spoke to sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus?

Galatians 3:26

You are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus.

Did they have the Holy Spirit?

Galatians 3:1-3
O foolish Galatians! Who has bewitched you? Before your very eyes Jesus Christ was clearly portrayed as crucified. I would like to learn just one thing from you: Did you receive the Spirit by works of the law, or by hearing with faith?

Are you so foolish? After starting in the Spirit, are you now finishing in the flesh?

and who was Paul warning that those who practice the sins in Galatians 5 would not inherit the kingdom of God

Galatians 5:19-21
The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity, and debauchery; idolatry and sorcery; hatred, discord, jealousy, and rage; rivalries, divisions, factions, and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

If Jesus was referring to this in John 5:24

John 5:28-29
Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming when all who are in their graves will hear His voice and come out—those who have done good to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil to the resurrection of judgment.

Then their judgement or lack thereof is based on what they have (in bold)

John 5:28-29
Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming when all who are in their graves will hear His voice and come out—those who have done good to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil to the resurrection of judgment.

furthermore,

Would this apply to Paul
Romans 7:18
I know that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my flesh; for I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out.

or this
Romans 6:23
But I see another law at work in my body, warring against the law of my mind and holding me captive to the law of sin that dwells within me.

if this is true?
Romans 6:6-7
We know that our old self was crucified with Him so that the body of sin might be rendered powerless, that we should no longer be slaves to sin. For anyone who has died has been freed from sin.

Paul seems to be speaking as someone who was a slave to sin in Romans 7

I think the OP Is asking WHY are Christians not only receiving salvation but are being judged/rewarded also on their works AFTER salvation?
Perhaps that is what YOU are asking?

At any rate, the answer is pretty simple.

It is a part of God's Plan.

consider the title of your post why do people need to confess repent and believe ?
For salvation. Faith is required for Salvation. Confession and repentance are related to faith, not good works. The rewards that are received for good works are given after and in addition to Salvation. Rewards are also spoken of as crowns.

I believe that you have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge. The law of works will not save you eternally, neither will the gospel save you eternally, however, by coming unto a knowledge of ot it will deliver you as you sojourn here in this world Salvation=deliverance. We are eternally delivered one time, and the child of God is delivered many times as he lives here in this world, by following God's commandments.

If you never learn to separate the salvation scriptures, they will tend to teach salvation is accomplished by your good works., and that is a false doctrine.

The unregenerate would never repent of breaking one of God's spiritual laws that he cannot discern, thinking them to be foolishness.

Only the person whose heart God has changed from stone to fleshy that can then feel guilty of breaking a spiritual law, will repent.

Every born-again man began life as a sinner and did not receive the Holy Spirit until after he invited Jesus into his heart.

We are saved by grace through faith.
Why will Jesus judge us?

To see who is saved by faith.
To see who is connected to the vone.
To see who is written in the book of life.
To see what fruit we are bearing.
To see if we are a sheep or goat.
To see if we are a tare or wheat.

Almost Christians, yet not fully Christians, may seem near the kingdom of heaven, but they cannot enter there. Almost but not wholly saved, means to be not almost but wholly lost.

“What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him?

If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food, and one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit?

Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works.

Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar? Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect?

And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God. Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only.

For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.

Wise brother oyster , your offering a Symantec’s argument “ is it chicken or the egg which comes first faith is when you hear Gods word and accept what he’s saying then you know what to do like this

“So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭10:17‬ ‭KJV‬‬

By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, ( he told him about the flood and how to build the ark and Noah believed him Noah knew he would be saved now if he did what God said would save him so)
moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith.”
‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭11:7‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Noah was saved by faith , but if Noah had said “ I believe what you are saying I have faith , I don’t need to do it what you saying to be saved lord I’m saved by faith “

what would happen to Noah and his family if he tried to separate what God told him to do that would save him from salvation ?

Consider the examples of faith were given in the only full chapter dedicated to explaining the principle of faith

“But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.”
‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭11:6‬ ‭KJV‬‬

consider the revelation and testimony of Jesus Christ Our Lord

“And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.”
‭‭Revelation‬ ‭22:12-13‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Consider Jesus warnings in the gospel about bad works and judgement

“The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity; and shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.

Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭13:41-43‬ ‭KJV‬‬

and good works and judgement

“Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: for I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me… And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.

Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels: for I was an hungred, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not. …Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me. And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭25:34-36, 40-43, 45-46‬ ‭KJV‬‬

It’s never any different for anyone Christian’s can have thier sins remitted “ good works are always found when we care about someone as much as we do our own self and they shouldn’t be seen as works truthfully if you love people your actions will tell the true story you’ll do good for them especially those in need

Faith is a seed when You hear Gods word and if it roots it grows into an action , a way

when we start hearing the word because it’s full of faith to those who will let it in

This is a faithful saying, and these things I will that thou affirm constantly, that they which have believed in God might be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable unto men.”
‭‭Titus‬ ‭3:8‬ ‭KJV‬‬

If anytime someone says “ we really do need to actually obey Jesus and the gospel , someone says “ we’re saved by grace not works we don’t need to do anything “ we’re sort of not really grasping faith in my own opinion

“Thus did Noah; according to all that God commanded him, so did he.”
‭‭Genesis‬ ‭6:22‬ ‭KJV‬‬

We can’t seperate hearing and believing what Jesus said from faith is my point . And he actually does teach believers to do good because they care about other people and says it’s very important not to just say things but to actually do them

he says there’s a lot we need to stop doing and a lot we need to learn about doing he’s says that and says hear it believe me trust me and you’ll be saved

If we start listening to what the lord says about salvation in the gospel it makes perfect sense
