So I have a few...first and foremost would be Skillet, then TFK, Pillar, Disciple, Group1Crew and Brandon Heath......what are y'alls favorites?
I don't have many favorites and in general am not a big Christian music fan. That being said, I do know a couple of Christian bands that stand out to me: Mad at the World, and Declaration.

I'm guessing we didn't have a music subforum back when this thread was started.

I'm not going to bother myself, but it would be interesting to see how many singers in these lists are still Christian... Or how many have come out as gay. I know one who has.

Speaking of Amy Grant (December 4, 2022): Amy Grant, ‘Queen of Christian Pop,’ Feted at Kennedy Center Honors.

Jesus said: "If you were of the world, the world would love its own. Yet because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you." John 15:19

The world loves its own and honors its own.

Skillet claims to be a Christian band but is billed with the most Satanic of worldly bands. They claim to do this to "minister" to them. But how can you minister to anyone if you're just like them, if you're Christian in name only?

Popularity and effectiveness are not mutually exclusive. I know some very popular Christian groups that are some of my favorites. Sometimes there's a good reason for them to be popular.

I don't know where Amy Grant is now, but her albums are some of my favorites.

Well giggle
Giggle if you want to
But I know it's still true
That he's always gonna love me

Grant is married to country star Vince Gill, it's her second marriage. Not sure what her testimony is now. I'm assuming she claims to be a Christian. I think she kind of went back and forth in her younger years. But a Christian comedian I know knows Gill personally and said that he swears like a trucker, so IDK where he stands.

That's the hipster Christian's favorite verse. If they get popular they must be evil. We stick only with no name singers.

The worst experience for a hipster Christian is when Shazam starts recognizing your favorite songs. You have to trim that out of your music collection.

Skillet is a Christian band.
And when the scribes of the Pharisees saw that he was eating with tax collectors and sinners, they told his disciples, "He eats with tax collectors and sinners." And when Jesus heard it, he told them, "Those who are well do not need a physician, rather those who are sick.

How can you minister to anyone sitting on Christian social media all the time only posting threads that criticize others?

Shhh! Don't ruin the holiness aura. If he puts others down it gives him an air of piety.

Or at least that's the way it's supposed to work...

Frankly I have no idea about Amy Grant's spiritual state, now or in the past. I didn't want to wind up defending it or her.

In fact the only thing I do know, and what I WILL defend, is that she made some doggone good songs.

Do you think this fits in with the Tiers of Heaven theory?
You know, there was a thread here months ago about Tiers in Heaven.
