Just because you don't understand the physics and mathematics that encompass flight calculations does not mean it is impossible to have multiple flights flying in myriad directions on a round earth.

I had trouble figuring that out also, but a little research provided understanding.

There was a flight that was recorded in the book of Ezekiel. The way that the craft was described appeared to be a flying saucer of some sort with a description of a gyroscope, perhaps part of an inertia guidance system.
It is impossible to fly in the opposite direction people claim the earth is rotating and still move with the earth's atmosphere in one direction. :D

That's like saying you cannot walk up a down escalator. Or down an up one.

We are flying above the escalator which is moving in only one direction; Your scenario puts us flying directly on the surface of the escalator, which is impossible.

Air is not a solid.

Air not being a solid, other things can move fairly unimpeded through it.
What do you believe is the minimum speed someone would have to fly in a westerly direction (the opposite direction of east) to get to their westerly destination if the earth is rotating eastwardly at about 1,000 miles per hour?

I have no belief relative to the minimum speed someone would have to fly in a westerly direction (the opposite
direction of east) to get to their westerly destination if the earth is rotating eastwardly at about 1,000 miles per hour.

Back in the 1960's I was flying in a C97 from Hawaii to the US. The flight to Hawaii took a little over six hours. The flight back took nearly ten hours. Our airspeed was always about 300 mph. The difference in time was the result of wind speed. There were times when the ground speed was negative.

The minimum ground speed is determined by the head wind. If the wind speed is zero, the minimum speed of any airplane is the stall speed, or the point where the plane has no lift.

The minimum speed someone would have to fly in a westerly direction to reach their destination is the minimum speed someone would be able to fly above 0 miles per hour.

If Earth and its atmosphere were constantly spinning eastwards over 1000mph, then the average commercial airliner traveling 500mph should never be able to reach its Eastward destinations before they come speeding up from behind! Likewise Westward destinations should be arrived at thrice the speed, but this is not the case.

Makes more sense than believing in some magical snow globe that supposedly covers the earth. That's simply ludicrous.
Why do you think it is ludicrous? When you have eliminated the impossible, then whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth.

If Earth and its atmosphere were constantly spinning Eastwards over 1000mph, landing airplanes on such fast-moving runways which face all manner of directions North, South, East, West and otherwise would be practically impossible, yet in reality such fictional concerns are completely negligible.

That is my favorite quote. I believe that it was first mentioned by Sherlock Holmes in one of books featuring him.

The plane at zero ground speed is spinning at the same speed as the earth. The rotation of the earth has no effect on the ground speed of the plane.

Planes do not fly on the ground.
Planes have an airspeed, and along with wind speed, we derive ground speed. That is what we use to determine how long it takes to get from point a to point b. The rotation of the earth has no effect on flight unless we are putting them into orbit around the earth.

You know you are wrong when your solution produces results contrary to observation.

You are the first person in my whole entire life to claim planes fly on the ground; if that makes you feel smart, keep believing planes fly on the ground.
