There are tons of verses on His faithfulness - from Deuteronomy 7:9 to 2 Timothy 2:13. But it would seem that His timing has to be included in this. He is faithful, He cannot be otherwise, but in His time, His purpose, the plan He has for you. He is faithful but He also knows us, He will not give us something or do something we are not ready for yet. Because He loves us, He knows us. Comments?

The reason this is of interest for me is that it is too easy to jump in and get ahead of God. You get tired of waiting, impatient, angry, scared and basically take charge when all you had to do was go ask Him - Lord what would you have me do here? Ask Him, He will answer. Comments?

I think God's timing is also based in part on our readiness. I don't think God has a predetermined date in mind of when he wants things to happen for us. It could also be that we are ready, but it is not His will for whatever reason.

In my experience, God's timing has a lot to do with waiting and learning to be patient. He works on a need to know basis and a lot of the time we don't need to know the things He knows. All He wants is for us walk with Him in our daily lives and to just be ready for any opportunity he places before us.

The best way God can use us is as an open vessel, ready to serve and be used in any situation, at any time, then he may use us and we may not even be aware until after it has happened, that way we don't get in the way of what he is trying to accomplish through us and He gets all the glory.

in His timing, God is not willing that any perish, longsuffering and patience in His mercy in His love for His creation. That He is exalted in all things He has made to be all in all and in all.

Amen, be like Jesus who thought equality with God not a thing to be grabbed at.

Part of the devil's temptation was "you will be like God ..."

It is definitely God's desire for us to be like Him ... in His time

Thing is, He has a plan, even if it is hard for us to see it in the midst of the trial/test. But we have to wait, let Him work it out, and you will blessed beyond belief. Faith, trust, patience, He provides and builds them all. But the waiting can be agonizing as each day passes. That is when you have to get on your knees, get into the Word, and He will answer, He will help get you through it. It is about learning total, absolute dependence on Him. Comments?

In one sense I am different for I am HAPPY to wait. I have had some BIG promises from God and I had to wait for them. It's just entrusting those things to our faithful God.

What is so good about your post is it shows you are not trying to make things happen in your own strength your own way. That is a big thing to have learned.

On a side note about trusting God, I've heard it said, "be careful what you pray for, because you might just get it."
I think the most scariest prayer you could ever pray is "Lord, teach me to trust you fully" It might seem simple, but that kind of trust in every situation, good or bad, is hard to learn and He's going to have take you to extraordinary lengths in order to achieve that goal and teach you that kind of trust.

When we pray closing with the words, "according to Your Will," we are always going to get the perfect response.

Believe it or not, God desires us to go that extra step, to stir ourselves up enough to take ahold of Him. Waiting on God is to join unto Him, by following and doing what is written in His word. As God has gone through extraordinary lengths to make it possible for every believer to find Him even the death of His Son. We are to greatly desire to trust God fully in all that we do and say, and if you will, you will not only find God, but be given of God what is beyond what you ever could have known on your own. The extra lengths you speak of is simply faith in His word to do in finding Him in your own brokenness in following Him, as He has provided a Comforter to confirm in us and teach us of His love, His peace, and the very truth of His word. His plan is perfect and in following Him we are perfected in Him just enough that no man can pluck us from His hand. Freeing us from our own doubts and any deception in ourselves and of men.

Psalms 34:8 O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.

Psalms 34:18 The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.

Psalms 34:19 Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all.

Philippians 3:10 That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;

This is a faith filled saying for Christian’s but so Many take sudden issue with it when they see it

“This is a faithful saying, and these things I will that thou affirm constantly, that they which have believed in God might be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable unto men.”
‭‭Titus‬ ‭3:8‬ ‭KJV‬‬

a when we read too many “ grace alone revelation “ books faithful sayings like that become contrary and not acceptable and have no value because we reject them and they never teach us anything

Faith requires us to hear and learn from Jesus as we do that he’s going to push us to grow and do better complacency is our enemy confidence in his word is faith

I can see what you are saying, but I can say, we are given everything to do in His word already, and in doing that, we put ourselves before Him to ask for what we have always desired to receive.

I'm sure we will be glad in the long run if we prayed that way in the short time we had to prepare for the coming Kingdom.

Such a short time to prepare for such a long eternity.
