I recently watched a video by Dr. Charles Stanley on God's Precious Promises and I was astounded at the number and he did not even do all of them, it was just a one hour sermon. Even more astounding is that so many people don't even know they had those promises the moment they gave themselves to Him. Still more know about those promises but mistakenly think they do not apply to them or do not have relevance in today's world. Just start with Romans 5:6-11 - Reconciled to God through the death of Christ, we are now a child of God, in His family. That is just one.
Which promises do you claim regularly? Which promises do you all go to when you are in need? Which ones calm you and give you peace?

I claim on a daily basis that God’s grace is sufficient. It’s discouraging to see how many Christians don’t understand this.

Not just discouraging but tragic. Tragic that God has given us this indescribable treasure of a relationship with Him, the inheritance, the blessings, all of it and so many people think that it does not apply to them, that it is only for "super-Christians" or some such. All we have to do is ask - He tells us to!

God's promises = good. Charles Stanley = not so good. Anyone who partners with a network as heretical as TBN has compromised the gospel. Whatever good things he might have to say are overshadowed by the fact that he is in partnership with heretics.

What amazes me is how many people claim these promises without understanding that they are conditional. God is not a vending machine.
