I don't think it's a trivial matter as we have a whole chapter of the Bible. My wife has long hair. Now I think she does it for God not me but it's still nice. Do you believe Paul was teaching submission to the husband as the husband submits to God. Is the husbands submissiveness to God required for a woman to keep her part.

I get the feeling your wife is thinking about cutting her hair, and you like it long... could be wrong, I admit.

This may just be the best example of a culture-specific admonition in Scripture. Nature doesn't teach anything of the sort. Paul was referring to a long-debunked misunderstanding of human sexuality.

How might the rules for hair apply to artificial women, i.e. transgenders?

Not too long ago I ran across the story of a young girl who came to believe
that boys have more advantages in life than girls, so she decided to undergo
the transgender process. Well; in time the girl discovered that no matter
how many surgeries, nor how many therapy sessions, nor how many
puberty blockers, nor how many hormones, she was never going to be a real
boy. But alas, the damage was done.

Her biggest complaint? The grown-ups that the young girl trusted for
sensible guidance failed to encourage her to seek a second opinion;
especially from girls who've been down that road without being fully
informed about what they were getting themselves into.
