This Forum (BDF) has a well-established reputation for making people get emotionally overheated. Many good people have been banned just because they had a bad day and popped-off.
I have been called an idiot many times. It hurt at first, but I have gotten used to it. I deal with it by cracking jokes, but occasionally it backfires. You can joke around with some, but you get into trouble with others. Do you think we should adopt a policy of acetic austerity? Did Jesus ever smile or jest? I really don't know. What is your thinking on this?
Ascetic? No. A reflection of Jesus example and teachings, maybe.
Jesus had a temper. The money changers found that out.
For his day and in contemporary parlance he also had a mouth on him. As the Pharisee's found out when bringing him into their illegal trial.
Those acts were made against his enemies. Enemies of righteousness.
There's no report I'm aware of where the same behavior occurred among Jesus and or his Disciples.
Matthew 5:22 comes to mind.
Jesus called out evil. I can understand that. And have done so.
That's not against a sister nor brother in Christ though. That's scripture.
As members in the body of Christ, aren't we to be kind to one another? Even when or if we have to bring correction from time to time?
