Eternity is a difficult concept for us. Like infinity or infinite is inconceivable but any number stated can always be increased by 1. God's technology is so far beyond ours even if some geek in a bio-lab creates a Mary Shelley techno-beastie, which I seriously doubt. Around 1995 the techno-geeks were 'all' taken in by 'cold fusion'. And the Theranos case with Elizabeth Holmes blood test is just recently resolved. At least the WSJ gives a heads up on nutsoes. But even there maybe not always. I recall a full page ad promoting the great pool of office workers in Africa which I don't think materialized. Maybe that sounds like apples and oranges equivalency but it's what they publish I look at.

The U.S. experienced 15 disasters in the first nine months of 2022 that each caused at least US$1 billion in damage. Hurricane Ian is taking the largest toll of these disasters by far – but the extent of the damage could take years to calculate with any precision.
Preliminary property damage estimates for Ian so far range from $42 billion to as much as $258 billion, with some landing in the middle.

I have observed that in almost every single natural disaster the early estimates of how much the cost will be is far below the final cost. I have concluded there are two reasons for this. Insurance companies want to put the very best face on this to avoid a run on their stock price and the second reason is that insured losses are only a small part of the overall cost.

Straw man. I read the article. She didn't say Democrats can stop hurricanes. She just suggested that climate change policies could potentially reduce hurricanes.

The entire Green New Deal is about giving politicians who are idiots (demonstrable truth) and corrupt trillions of dollars. The people telling us that we have to reduce our carbon footprint are flying all over the world on the US dime in private planes. They tell us the sea level is rising and then buy $12 million dollar mansions on the coast. This is as big a scam as anything we have ever seen.
That said I agree we are seeing "climate change" but it is not explained by our models of greenhouse gases. In addition to the "climate change" we are also seeing a 1,000% increase in earthquakes around the world as well as a massive increase in meteor events. Something is definitely happening but they are lying to us about what it is. I am a geologists and have studied the impact of greenhouse gases on the climate since the 80s. My university had one of the first scientists to go study the ice cores in Antarctica over this issue.

Yes, climate change is a real thing. So then, we need a real diagnosis. If this was due to greenhouse gases the models would predict it. We have had 20 years to tweek them, correct them, gather data to make them more accurate and use AI. One simple way to test a model is to use 20 years of data to see if you can predict the next 10, even the next year, and we have failed to do that.
This means we are missing some key factors.
