Monday 9-26-22 2nd. Day Of The Weekly Cycle, Elul 29 5782 5th. Fall Day

Jesus Stated the truth in oft-quoted words which millions have seldom stopped to consider. When he was praying and fasting in the wilderness of Judea, and was tempted to violate the spirit of God's law. he rebuked the tempter with a quote from the old Testament: It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.

Matthew Four:4

A true Christian is one who predicates his or her whole life on the word of God. Their every move, their every action, their every belief is based on the infallible and divine word of God Almighty! And since Scripture is the revealed word of God, that means their whole life is lived on the promise that the Bible contains divine authority over their life.

The Apostle Paul expressed the Chris view of the Bible when he wrote: All scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.

2 Timothy Three:16 RSV

The Bible is the Magna Carta, the Constitution, the supreme Bill of Rights, of the devout, God-fearing, Genuine Christian. It is their personal charter, their map, their blueprint for entrance into the Kingdom of God. It is the Covenant between them and God, with Christ being the Mediator and facilitator of the covenant. Without it, they are totally lost and devoid of direction, just as a hunter without a compass who has strayed into unfamiliar terrain.

But what does the Bible state is the supreme hallmark of a genuine Christian? but Obedience to God.

You can know the Bible backward and forward but unless you're transformed by it through His Holy Spirit it's all just useless head knowledge.

"And calling to him a child, he put him in the midst of them and said, 'Truly, I say to you, unless you turn and become like children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.' " Matthew 18:2-4

There's a great old hymn that sums it up perfectly:

Trust and obey,
for there's no other way
To be happy in Jesus,
but to trust and obey.

Amen it’s the goal of every real Christian but remember

“I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for hitherto ye were not able to bear it, neither yet now are ye able.”
‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭3:2

some are babes nd they are still authentic Christian’s we don’t all know the same level of the gospel at the same time an elder and a newborn aren’t the same

I love what your saying but it’s more tonthe strong meat side for those who are on this course

“For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe.

But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.”
‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭5:13-14‬ ‭KJV‬‬

what I’m saying the relevance is if you have the same expectations for a youngster a three year old as you do for grandpa or even older brother the fifteen year old , it’s going to choke the toddler and be too much wieghf for them to bear

the identity of a Christian is first and always here

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
‭‭John‬ ‭3:16‬ ‭KJV‬‬

And then we begin to root in that faith and as we hear him in whom we believe we start to drink pure Milk and we start to develope as we learn we grow with what we can let into our hearts and minds

“He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭11:15‬ ‭KJV‬‬

our ears to hesr ar something that are developed as we grow up

I couldn’t agree with your words more only I would add the term “ mature “ in place of “genuine “

think of a family with a father. His children are all equally loved but being a father and knowing and caring for each one the father knows what each needs

when a new born arrives at home how he is treated , what he is taught , what is expected of him is not going to be anything like what’s to father is currently teaching his fofteen year old son the older son has already learned the babes things and then grew into a toddler , into a youngster into an adolescent to a teen

so you aren’t teaching the teenager his a, b , c’s that’s what your about to teach your baby when they start being able to speak and understand

God is personal to each one , at the point we find a true belief in the Son of God we are and can believe we see a genuine Christian we just also need to hear that it’s a family and we’re a babe d on we’re meant to start learning new things and accepting the things our daddy is teaching us

but the baby is held and comforted they cry and do many things the older children have already grown through and left behind

to be born makes one genuine to grow up and begin to accept responsibility makes maturity

the new believer yesterday is as precious and loves and accepted as the elder who’s come through the process and matured and now seems right

What commandments? The 10 commandments?
Yes the 10 commandments, Jesus said it so many times to keep the commandments in so many verses;

Mat 5:19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

Mat 19:17 And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.

Mat 22:37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
Mat 22:38 This is the first and great commandment.
Mat 22:39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
Mat 22:40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

Joh 14:15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.

Joh 15:10 If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love.

and more....

Here are the 10 commandments;

The Ten Commandments

Deu 5:6 I am the LORD thy God, which brought thee out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage.
Deu 5:7 Thou shalt have none other gods before me.
Deu 5:8 Thou shalt not make thee any graven image, orany likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the waters beneath the earth:
Deu 5:9 Thou shalt not bow down thyself unto them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me,
Deu 5:10 And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me and keep my commandments.
Deu 5:11 Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain: for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.
Deu 5:12 Keep the sabbath day to sanctify it, as the LORD thy God hath commanded thee.
Deu 5:13 Six days thou shalt labour, and do all thy work:
Deu 5:14 But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, nor thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thine ox, nor thine ass, nor any of thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates; that thy manservant and thy maidservant may rest as well as thou.
Deu 5:15 And remember that thou wast a servant in the land of Egypt, and that the LORD thy God brought thee out thence through a mighty hand and by a stretched out arm: therefore the LORD thy God commanded thee to keep the sabbath day.
Deu 5:16 Honour thy father and thy mother, as the LORD thy God hath commanded thee; that thy days may be prolonged, and that it may go well with thee, in the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.
Deu 5:17 Thou shalt not kill.
Deu 5:18 Neither shalt thou commit adultery.
Deu 5:19 Neither shalt thou steal.
Deu 5:20 Neither shalt thou bear false witness against thy neighbour.
Deu 5:21 Neither shalt thou desire thy neighbour's wife, neither shalt thou covet thy neighbour's house, his field, or his manservant, or his maidservant, his ox, or his ass, or any thing that is thy neighbour's.

So there are no Christians.

Christians are marked by an ongoing effort to keep the commandments and confess when they fall short. Being a Christian doesn't depend on sinlessness but belief. I believe the original post was meant to exhort us to greater holiness and purity not cause dissension amongst the body.

keeping commandments will not save anybody, since keeping them did not save us our salvation is not dependant upon them.

If ye love Me keep My commandments so will you prove to be My disciple.

A true Christian is one who predicates his or her whole life on the word of God.
Agreed. But a genuine Christ is simply one who has been born of the Spirit -- regenerated. "Born of the Spirit" = born of God = born from above = born again = regenerated. Thus a child of God.

Then what you said does apply but first things first.

I was not talking about salvation just about what is expected of a Christian.
