Just stating the OBVIOUS TRUTH of the matter. "Eschatologists" have been making up "End of the age fairy tales" for centuries.
Jesus will be back according to the Schedule, which has been on track, and in budget since the creation. AND NOBODY KNOWS what that Schedule is, although that doesn't stop 'em from writing books, or making meaningless claims.
I think you miss the point of the conversation. This is not about end times, this is about scriptures that say God's people will be deceived and drawn away from Him by false prophets using His Name:
1 Timothy 4:1
Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times
some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits
and doctrines of demons, 2 speaking lies in hypocrisy...
~
2 Timothy 4:2
Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering
and doctrine. 3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine;
but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
4 and they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

Matthew 24
:3 As Jesus was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately.
“Tell us,” they said, “when will this happen, and what will be the sign of your coming
and of the end of the age?” 4 Jesus answered:
“Watch out that no one deceives you.
5 For many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am the Messiah,’ and will deceive many.
...
10 At that time many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other,
11 and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people.
12 Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold,
13 but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved.
...
23 At that time if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Messiah!’
or, ‘There he is!’ do not believe it.
24 For false messiahs and false prophets will appear
and perform great signs and wonders
to deceive, if possible, even the elect.
25 See, I have told you ahead of time. 26 “So if anyone tells you,
‘There he is, out in the wilderness,’ do not go out;
or, ‘Here he is, in the inner rooms,’ do not believe it.

I urge you, brothers and sisters, to watch out for those who cause division
and put obstacles in your way that are contrary to the teaching you have learned.
Keep away from them.
18 For such people are not serving our Lord Christ,
but their own appetites.
By smooth talk and flattery they deceive the minds of naive people.
~
2 Peter 2: 1
But there were also false prophets among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you.
They will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the sovereign Lord who bought them—
bringing swift destruction on themselves.
2 Many will follow their depraved conduct
and will bring the way of truth into disrepute.
3 In their greed these teachers will exploit you with fabricated stories.
Their condemnation has long been hanging over them,
and their destruction has not been sleeping.

Jesus said to them:
“Watch out that no one deceives you.
6 Many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am he,’
and will deceive many.
