Hi everyone! I'm not sure what to say here, but just thought I'd post something here as that appears to be customary. I'm a man in my early 40s, hailing from the country of Finland. I grew up in a Christian home, so I've been a believer as far back as I can remember, but there have also been more definite moments of conscious commitment to the faith when I've matured through the years. My interest vary from theology, philosophy and apologetics to occasionally watching some sports like ice hockey and football (soccer as some prefer to call it ) and some other quite typical hobbies. I'm not sure how actively I'll post here, but who knows, perhaps I'll become a regular.
I may have missed something about the rules of this site or at least may not completely understand them yet. Noticing the "poems" section in the list of forums, I tried to post something there. The thread was first waiting for approval and then disappeared. I may not be the greatest poet (have only dabbled with it a tiny bit during the last few years), but I think (hope!) that it wasn't removed due to its poor quality. A more likely explanations seem to be that this has something to do with the posting rights of new members. Or I suppose it's not impossible that a mod took a look at the poem and thought it was "too dark and gloomy" in tone. But that would surprise me a little bit as it wasn't THAT dark, and it did have a sort of implied redemptive ending. I guess it's not smart to speculate about this possibility as it's probably not what happened.
