A question came to mind as I was reading of Christ's atonement for our sin.
Why is His death sufficient judgment to atone and deliver us from death if living in an eternity of torture is the actual wage of our sin?

Agree, but which death did Jesus deliver us from?

Ooh, attempting to use Scripture as a weapon in an effort to conceal your inability to answer your own question. Well played. 👏

Verses are a weapon against all LIES of Satan, who has been and is still deceiving the world.

So you see New Testament verses as a weapon? Quoting verses isn’t a weapon unless you need to defend yourself. That’s interesting.

The rich man is representative of the Jewish priests, Lazuras is representative of the gentiles.

This story is a foreshadowing of the coming judgment on the Jewish priests for their unbelief and losing the favor of God.

Lazarus "the gentiles" had become the recipient of good things as they placed their faith in Christ Jesus.

It is stated quite clearly here:

And he said, "Nay, father Abraham: But if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent." And he said unto him, "If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded though one rose from the dead." Luke 16:19-31
And where does God teach his children to beg for food from Jewish priests?

2 Cor 6:7 - in truthful speech and in the power of God; with the weapons of righteousness in the right hand and in the left;
2 Cor 10
4 The weapons of our warfare are not the weapons of the world. Instead, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. 5 We tear down arguments and every presumption set up against the knowledge of God; and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ

Paul would strongly DISAGREE with your opinions.

The really interesting thing is your ignorance that Scripture is the BEST weapon against the devil. Kinda sad as well.

How did Jesus respond to the devil's temptations? With Scripture. That WAS His defense.

No. There is mention of zombies/living dead in that verse. Or any other verse, for that matter.

Are you aware of what John 5:24 teaches?
Secularists read the bible too and then come up with all kind of strange things particularly in a place called Hollywood, Ca. U.S.A. Maybe you heard of it. They have been producing shows ,and movies for 100 years and I can certainly see that some of their shows, I'm thinking of a show called the "Twilight Zone" by Rod Serling here, and I have read or heard that Serling was "religiously" oriented. I used repair electronic, or some say electrics, for some of those folks so it is possible my hearing things. I added that because you sound like a stickler for details that may not be relevant to the nitty gritty.

And where does God teach his children to beg for food from Jewish priests?
Matthew 15
24But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel. 25Then came she and worshipped him, saying, Lord, help me. 26But he answered and said, It is not meet to take the children's bread, and to cast it to dogs. 27And she said, Truth, Lord: yet the dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from their masters' table.

Luke 16:21
And desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man's table: moreover the dogs came and licked his sores.

Beautiful. Just a crumb of the Gospel saves.

Uh?

Lazarus is outside the gate living with dogs, dogs was a derogatory name for the gentiles, not children of God.

Israel was supposed to be a light to the Gentiles (Isa. 42:6; 49:6; 60:3), but ultimately failed to share the spiritual riches with which it had been blessed.

The beggar represents the Gentiles nations and their willingness to know about the God of the Jews, but Jews kept the riches, for the most part, to themselves.

No mention of salvation in the text.

And do not present your members as instruments of unrighteousness to sin,
but present yourselves to God as being alive from the dead,
and your members as instruments of righteousness to God.
(Romans 6:13)
interesting side-note:

the word translated into English as 'instruments' here is the Greek 'hopla' -- as in the hoplite phalynx, if the term means anything to you -- the word indicates not general 'instruments' in the connotation we think of it, but specifically instruments of warfare - there is a definite military context to it. a better translation is probably "armament" -- in general use, it referred to armor, weapons, etc. a soldier's kit. native Greek speakers wouldn't use this word to describe a musical instrument or a tool for ordinary work; the connotation is things used in combat. ((so i have read, anyway - i don't speak Greek))

i.e. yes, The Word is a sharp double-edged sword. we are made to be armament for righteousness, proceeding out of His mouth
the scripture is indeed a weapon against the powers of darkness, as are we: a dagger concealed in His hand, an arrow hidden in His quiver

quite beautiful, IMO

Thank you for the inspiration :D

Well I wish I was this clever, this is a well known understanding of this parable, because it is a story Jesus told to the Jews so they could be forewarned of their soon troubles.

It defies logic to think that this could be a "real situation" that actually occurred.

God Himself indeed laughs in derision -- see previous post, Psalm 37

agree we should not be spitefully mocking each other ((i am guilty)), but we must learn to be gentle in reproof, walking in the light of love for each other :)
Psalm 37 God laughs at the wicked, not the just.

Did Jesus ever laugh at His disciples when they were wrong?

The man's name was Lazarus. I cannot recall when Jesus ever made-up real names for His parables.

Perhaps in this parable, Jesus used the name Lazarus, because it was a way to delineate a certain group.

He wanted the audience to recognize this in the story. His audience would have understood the significance of the name.

But you’re the ignorant one. That’s been proven conclusively beyond a shadow of a doubt. I was the one responding with Bible verses, swatting down false doctrines.

What are you even talking about? You live in a fantasy world. Pathetic. You’ve learned nothing after numerous threads of being dominated. Are you a glutton for being debunked? Seriously, idk why you keep responding to my posts otherwise.
