That was funny.
He's right. The only one who would find that funny was the lawyer and his firm. They might just make a few bucks too.
He might have gone through that scenario like I did once. Expired tag and the cop does an illegal U-turn through a bad 6 Lane intersection. Thought he got a call for a bank robber. Nope, just a late tag, and demanded to "search my car. "
I told him what the lawyer told that one. He got mad that he couldn't tear my car apart.
"I am a cop and you will respect my authority!!"
