It still all boils down to what does it mean to believe in Jesus. Just an intellectual acceptance or believing all that He taught. And if you believe all that He taught, he did encourage us to do good works and we will be judged upon them. Familiarize yourself with the Gospel of Matthew and the 'Judgement of Nations'. Those that showed love of neighbor were simultaneously showing their love for God. And they will be awarded eternal life.

We have faith, hope, and love. Faith without love of God and neighbor is like a clanging gong, worthless. So, if you only have an 'intellectual faith' in Jesus and can't apply it to your Christian life then your definition of 'Faith in Jesus' is sadly truncated and prettty much worthless.

Faith in Jesus includes the whole package, believing in Him as Lord, God, and Savior and believing all that He taught and commanded us to do.

If you think that believing in Jesus is easy, look at all the martyrs. Even all the Apostles, except for John, gave up their lives in martyrdom. No Gospel reading ever said that being a Christian would be easy. What does 'Pick up your own cross and follow Me' mean to you? Does that sound easy?
There were many commands to His disciples .
Likewise, there were many commands to me as my Dad's only boy. Dad did not command me to help with jobs and such to be his son. He expected that of me because I was his son.
Faith does not equal obedience UNLESS I am commanded to have faith,/trust/believe.

I believe the verse below.

Romans 10:13
For “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
Amen! No need, under Pure GRACE, to interpret/change to:

Everyone who calls AND BEHAVES unto the end will be saved.

Absolutely NO Need...

So, obviously you don't believe Jesus when He says that all who call to Him, Lord, Lord, will not be saved. That's your prerogative.

Mere belief has never saved anyone?

John 3:18
The one who believes in Him is not judged; the one who does not believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.

John 3:36
The one who believes in the Son has eternal life; but the one who does not obey the Son will not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him.”

Are you saying that anyone who calls on the name of Jesus, is not saved?
The type of belief in those verses is the type of faith. Not just mere belief.

As james said. Even demons believe..

mental agreement never saved anyone

That is the question, what does faith in Jesus mean? Does it just mean faith that He is Lord, God, and Savior or faith in all that He taught us and commanded us to do?

Do we need to love Jesus to be saved? I think so. At the Last Supper He asked his disciples, "How can you say you love me if you don't obey My commandments?" And Jesus did command us to love God with our whole heart and our neighbors as ourselves.

I intrinsically believe that all Jesus taught and commanded are part of a true faith in Jesus. You can't have faith in Jesus without having faith in what He taught and commanded.

Romans 2:5-11
5But because of your stubbornness and your unrepentant heart, you are storing up wrath against yourself for the day of God’s wrath, when his righteous judgment will be revealed. 6God “will repay each person according to what they have done.” 7To those who by persistence in doing good seek glory, honor and immortality, he will give eternal life. 8But for those who are self-seeking and who reject the truth and follow evil, there will be wrath and anger. 9There will be trouble and distress for every human being who does evil: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile; 10but glory, honor and peace for everyone who does good: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile. 11For God does not show favoritism.

Responding to an alter call without any following fruit or similar.

9/10 of what is preached today
sadly, what many experience in the modern church is an emotional experience, caught up in the moment type thing instead of a real faith and touch by the Sprit.

and many do not follow up it with anything...

That's what I'm hearing so often makes me wonder what they think they are getting at the end, when they are told today is the day of Salvation.

When Jesus is our Salvation, When you get Jesus inside you well he who begins a good work in you will finish it and Thanks be to God he gives us the victory through Jesus, nothing to worry about tomorrow or the end, just looking for the Glorious appearing

there has not been a single sermon preached in the last 20 years that would have ever motivated me to stand up and walk down to the altar.

even though i rebelled and went astray for a long period of time, it was the upbringing from the tail end of the Fire and Brimstone Preaching Era that created my hunger for God as a young person and later on when i returned back to the fold. this modern day junk since 2000 haven't stirred any spirits but those from the pits of Hell!

What I am addressing is easy believism, which takes you to hell!
If the preaching of repentance and conversion for the remission of sins is omitted, then it becomes Easy Believism. And if the sufferings of Christ in His body, soul, and spirit are omitted, or the shedding of His blood for our redemption is omitted, then that is only a partial Gospel. If His death, burial, and resurrection is omitted, then that too is a partial Gospel. If the imperative to be born again is omitted, then that is a serious omission. So the preaching of the full and true Gospel will enable the Holy Spirit to convict and convince sinners, and there will be no Easy Believism. At the same time if justification by grace through faith + NOTHING is omitted, then that is a false gospel.

True. Lots of people believe there is one God, for instance Muslims. Faith in Monotheism was never meant to be the means of salvation.

AN "alter call" doesn't necessarily mean SPIT, nor does "The Sinner's Prayer" UNLESS Holy SPirit Conviction of SIN and Judgement is in play, and God gifts FAITH in your heart to make the SIN OFFERING of Jesus real.

what do you mean by the above comment? It sounds like you’re saying that after the year 2000 that sermons preached have been ineffective to proselytize sincere, genuine, believers but rather have only attracted spirits from hell?

The Lord said in Mat 24: "12Because of the multiplication of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold. 13But the one who perseveres to the end will be saved."

The Lord did not say, those who once believe, but then fall away, are still saved. He said those who persevere till the end will be saved, which is final salvation.

God Bless.
Which makes sense.

Only those that believe in Jesus will be saved.

I did not say that an unbeliever can be saved.

Well a sin is a transgression of God’s law according to 1 John 3:4. So if we can determine the difference between breaking a law and offending God then maybe it could be clearer what to do. Basically which laws are Christians expected to follow?
You have been told the commandments that matter.

1 John 3:23-24
This is His commandment, that we believe in the name of His Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, just as He commanded us.

That’s clear. Love your neighbor “as yourself.”

1My little children, I am writing these things to you so that you will not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate before the Father—Jesus Christ, the Righteous One. 2He Himself is the atoning sacrificea for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world.
3By this we can be sure that we have come to know Him: if we keep His commandments. 4If anyone says, “I know Him,” but does not keep His commandments, he is a liar, and the truth is not in him. 5But if anyone keeps His word, the love of God has been truly perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him: 6Whoever claims to abide in Him must walk as Jesus walked.
The scripture is very precious
