the Word Of Truth. Our LORD is simply telling His disciples that it is His Father’s
Good Pleasure to give them the kingdom, to place them in authority, and that
if they will “seek” it even now “all these things” (needed food and clothing) will
be amply provided for them. Thus He goes on: “Sell that ye have and give alms.”
It is as simple as that.

In any case, they did not, like many today, take lightly our LORD’s Words in
Matthew 7:24-27, but, filled with the Holy Spirit, immediately set out to obey
their commission to the letter. Unless we are prepared to do the same we had
better acknowledge that there has since been a change in dispensation...

And the change is that we are not to teach all that Christ commanded, or not to make disciples?

This is yet another thread about Stam's error of claiming that the Great Commission is not for the modern churches.

So my question to you is, what exactly are you trying to accomplish by this OP? Are you reacting against someone or something?

Hello sir.. I understand you are part of a Berean organization. But truly being a Berean.. are you really keeping things in their right context in the Bible?


From what I saw online.. the organization I think you are part of... they have the church starting at Pentecost.. which is downgrading the great works Jesus was doing with His disciples including the great commission, as the first NT church (yes.... small c!)

Don't follow the errors of Scofield on ecclesiastical definitions.

The disciples had church discipline before Pentecost.. see Matt 18.. they had church meetings before Pentecost.. see their gatherings.. they had church roles before Pentecost.. see what Jesus gave the disciples to do. They had the Lord's Supper and had a pool of money to finance their church. They baptized by immersion in water.

Jesus describes building His church in Matt 16:18.. if this to you is meant to be a future reference not yet happening.. well you still have Jesus' church work and the discipline process for a NT church before Pentecost.

The organization i looked at..they also seem to have a denial of water baptism for now which is very strange.. and not being a Berean at all in meaning to let scripture speak for itself.

Anyhow.. I agree with you on OSAS and the gifts of the Spirit.. so no big deal.

I understand signs and wonders being for the disciples and apostles time, being foundational and not needed for now.. but the commission definitely continues today.

The New Testament was begun on the Day of Pentecost. Testaments/Wills do not take effect until after a person has died:

"For where a testament is, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator.
For a testament is of force after men are dead: otherwise it is of no strength at all while the testator liveth." Heb. 9:16-17
