But we all disagree with each other as to the meaning of Scripture, the Old and New Testament. Whose interpretation of Scripture is authoritative?
This is why we need the Spirit of Wisdom and Revelation. The Bible is a spiritual book for spiritual people. Truth is objective, but often people are subjective. Interpretation is based on our preconceived notions and lived experience. This is the reason why our minds must be renewed.
Another issue is the excessive importance people put on being right. It's vastly overrated. There are some teachings that are not open to debate. There are many that are open to interpretation. It is fine to have opinions, not so much to use knowledge as a club to beat up other Christians. We should be able to maintain fellowship while not agreeing.
An example may help. I went to an Anglican meeting recently. There was a baby sprinkling, aka baptism. I don't agree with any of it. However, the pastor loves people, loves Jesus and preaches a good word. So I say nothing about what we do not agree on. Now if someone was to say that you can't be saved unless you were sprinkled, I would challenge that statement.
Baby sprinklers have a theological basis for their belief. They read the same Bible and come up with a different doctrine. What matters is unity of the Spirit, not 100% doctrinal agreement.
