As far as I know, we are allowed to discuss anything that does not actually promote anti- Bible/Christian doctrines or has the propensity to "automatically" turn any thread into complete chaos...

Somebody correct me if I am wrong...

Each thread is reviewed by the moderators prior to being posted. They will stop a thread if they feel it is promoting false beliefs. Otherwise, feel free to discuss, though I would recommend showing the biblical response to the errors of other belief systems, and not just discussing the errors themselves.

There is no restriction on discussing any cults. Both Christadelphians and Mormons have "another Jesus". As do all the other cults. And once you know where they stand on who Christ is -- "the doctrine of Christ" -- you do not need to go much further.

Big difference between "discussing" and "promoting another Gospel."

The Mods and Admins know this

I am thinking the best approach would be texts cults use as proof texts and expose why they are wrong.

There is a teaching that people will become gods at the resurrection.

Refute: Isa 43:10

10 The Lord says, “You people are my witnesses and the servant I chose. I chose you so that you would help people believe me. I chose you so that you would understand that ‘I Am He’—I am the true God. There was no God before me, and there will be no God after me.

KJ21
“Ye are My witnesses,” saith the Lord, “and My servant whom I have chosen, that ye may know and believe Me, and understand that I am He. Before Me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after Me.

EXB
The Lord says, “You are my witnesses and the servant I chose [42:1]. I chose you so you would know and believe me, so you would understand that I am ·the true God [L he]. There was no God ·created [formed] before me, and there will be ·no God [none] after me.

The Bible is the Written Word of God, and the Spirit is willing to give aid in all understanding. No need to give time to anything else, but we will not stop you from mere discussion. Questioning God's settled Truth is another matter.

John was writting against a form of Gnosticism.

1 John 1:8-10
Easy-to-Read Version
8 If we say that we have no sin, we are fooling ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 9 But if we confess our sins, God will forgive us. We can trust God to do this. He always does what is right. He will make us clean from all the wrong things we have done. 10 If we say that we have not sinned, we are saying that God is a liar and that we don’t accept his true teaching.

Both Modern gnostics like Mind Science cults and back then claim sin is not real.

Who is the liar but he who denies that Jesus is the Christ? This is the antichrist, he who denies the Father and the Son.

1 John 4:2-3 ESV / 19 helpful votes
By this you know the Spirit of God: every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, and every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you heard was coming and now is in the world already.

John 14:6 ESV / 19 helpful votes
Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

My little children, I am writing these things to you so that you may not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. He is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the sins of the whole world. And by this we know that we have come to know him, if we keep his commandments. Whoever says “I know him” but does not keep his commandments is a liar, and the truth is not in him, but whoever keeps his word, in him truly the love of God is perfected. By this we may know that we are in him: ...

That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we looked upon and have touched with our hands, concerning the word of life— the life was made manifest, and we have seen it, and testify to it and proclaim to you the eternal life, which was with the Father and was made manifest to us—
