I'm studying my Bible and have a question that I can't answer about the Holy Spirit. What Bible verses tells us the Holy Spirit is one of the three Persons of the Trinity,
it doesn’t say the Holy Spirit is one of three persons
it says the holy spirit is the spirit of God he’s Gods living spirit God is one he has revealed his one self in tbeee different ways
through the old testsment we learn of the creator and Father of creation a mysterious God unseen powerful and present but invisible and frightening un-knowable
The gospel is the revelation of God in human flesh made known to mankind plainly shown To us in the form we can understand and know a fellow
Man
the rest of the New Testament is the same God who was in the beginning and then reversed himself to mankind in the flesh , it’s his spirit working through and teaching through fellow humans the church
God is one person not three he has shown himself three ways , t easing of himself three times once through the father in the ot , once through the son in the gospel and once through the holy ghost who still witnesses through Christian’s today
God is one
“For there are three that
bear record in heaven, the
Father, the
Word, and the
Holy Ghost: and these three are
one.”
1 John 5:7 KJV
notice he isnt saying “ God is three and the one is three ? But the one God is one manifest in
three records borne from heaven
you begin at one theres only one God
and then you see the father and son
before God made himself known in Christ
“No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.”
John 1:18
after he’s made himself known
“Jesus saith unto him,
I am the way, the
truth, and the
life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.
Philip saith unto him, Lord,
shew us the Father, and it sufficeth us. Jesus saith unto him,
Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father?”
John 14:6-9 KJV
Do you see what I’m saying ? The holy spirit is the spirit of God, this is what gives his children birth
“For as many as are
led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.”
Romans 8:14
“And
because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.”
Galatians 4:6 KJV
“But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that
the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not
the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.”
Romans 8:9 KJV
Even the ot spirit before Christs birth
“Of which salvation the prophets have enquired and searched diligently, who prophesied of the grace that should come unto you: searching what, or what manner of time
the Spirit of Christ which was in them did signify, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glory that should follow.”
1 Peter 1:10-11 KJV
this spirit
“ And
the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.”
Genesis 1:2 KJV
Is the unknown invisible Creator and God
this one and only God was manifest in the flesh of the son of man to make himself known by us
“And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness:
God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels,
preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.”
1 Timothy 3:16 KJV
After he died and rose and was received up into glory he sent his spirit the soirit of Gods son into the hearts of believers when we receive the Holy Ghost we’ve received the father son and holy spirit in our hearts
“And I will pray
the Father, and he shall give you another
Comforter, that
he may abide with you for ever; I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.
At that day
ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you.
Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will
keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.”
John 14:16, 18, 20, 23
do you see how everywhere Jesus is the father is there ? Everywhere the day th r and son are the holy spirit is there ?
this God
And
the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.”
Genesis 1:2 KJV
Became flesh
“God was manifest in the flesh”
and then he died in the flesh
“And when Jesus had cried with a loud voice, he said,
Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit: and having said thus, he gave up the ghost.”
Luke 23:46 KJV
now this same God who created all things then Became flesh and died to save us was returned to his heavenly throne having accomplished mans salvstion and providing his spirit to believers so they too can worship God in truth and have this true fellowship with him
“
God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must
worship him in spirit and in truth.”
John 4:24 KJV
“What? know ye not that
your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?
For ye are
bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.”
1 Corinthians 6:19-20
the lord is now the spirit living inside believers
“Now
the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.”
2 Corinthians 3:17 KJV
it’s the revelation of God in three distinct manners each having a vital
Purpose in mans salvstion , the only God manifest himself in these three ways because it’s what man needed for salvation
he had to become a man in order to partake in mans curse of death and overcome it that’s why he became flesh to intercede for us the plan of salvstion required God who is spirit , to become a man because of this
“For our transgressions are multiplied before thee, and our sins testify against us: for our transgressions are with us; and as for our iniquities, we know them; Yea, truth faileth; and he that departeth from evil maketh himself a prey: and the LORD saw it, and it displeased him that there was no judgment. And he saw that there was no man, and wondered that there was no intercessor: therefore his arm brought salvation unto him; and his righteousness, it sustained him. For he put on righteousness as a breastplate, and an helmet of salvation upon his head; and he put on the garments of vengeance for clothing, and was clad with zeal as a cloke. And the Redeemer shall come to Zion, and unto them that turn from transgression in Jacob, saith the LORD. As for me, this is my covenant with them, saith the LORD; My spirit that is upon thee, and my words which I have put in thy mouth, shall not depart out of thy mouth, nor out of the mouth of thy seed, nor out of the mouth of thy seed's seed, saith the LORD, from henceforth and for ever.”
Isaiah 59:12, 15-17, 20-21 KJV
after he came and died and rose he went here and sent the portion of
his spirit into earth
“This Jesus hath God raised up, whereof we all are witnesses. Therefore
being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear.”
Acts 2:32-33 KJV
It’s just the message of the plan that makes it seems as if God is three persons , it’s that we’re seeing the one God in three distinct ways
the Old Testament view , the gospel , and the. The time after the gospel
Jesus is the father son and holy ghost Manifest all in one at one time and place the three manifestations of God in one being bodily manifest openly to the world in the gospel
“For
in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.”
Colossians 2:9 KJV
Jesus is the father son and Holy Ghost
“Go ye therefore, and teach all nations,
baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:”
Matthew 28:19 KJV
“When they heard this, they were
baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.”
Acts 19:5 KJV
“Neither is there salvation in any other: for
there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.”
Acts 4:12
God the father , became the son , and sent his own spirit to live in us and lead us home and teach us the truth of who we are
“The
Spirit itself
beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:”
Romans 8:16 KJV
“And
there are three that bear witness in earth, the
Spirit, and the
water, and the
blood: and these three
agree in one.”
1 John 5:8 KJV
