Hebrews 4:1Therefore, while the promise of entering his rest still stands, let us fear lest any of you should seem to have failed to reach it. 2 For good news came to us just as to them, but the message they heard did not benefit them, because they were not united by faith with those who listened.[a] 3 For we who have believed enter that rest, as he has said,
“As I swore in my wrath,
‘They shall not enter my rest,’”
although his works were finished from the foundation of the world.
4 For he has somewhere spoken of the seventh day in this way: “And God rested on the seventh day from all his works.” 5 And again in this passage he said,
“They shall not enter my rest.”

6 Since therefore it remains for some to enter it, and those who formerly received the good news failed to enter because of disobedience, 7 again he appoints a certain day, “Today,” saying through David so long afterward, in the words already quoted,
“Today, if you hear his voice,
do not harden your hearts.”

8 For if Joshua had given them rest, God[b] would not have spoken of another day later on. 9 So then, there remains a Sabbath rest for the people of God, 10 for whoever has entered God's rest has also rested from his works as God did from his.

11 Let us therefore strive to enter that rest, so that no one may fall by the same sort of disobedience. 12 For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart. 13 And no creature is hidden from his sight, but all are naked and exposed to the eyes of him to whom we must give account.
Jesus the Great High Priest
14 Since then we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus, the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. 15 For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin. 16 Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

It isn't futile.
That's how God calls his Elect to him. His word resonates, as he intends. Only God can lead us to understanding his word.
It seems redundant, but I’m a simple man lacking in understanding.

Scripture doesn’t state that Jesus ONLY died for those that the Father gave Him, it states that He shall lose none whom the Father has given Him. Big difference.

Ok then, let me ask you this. You say that he died for all of mankind, so, if he died for all mankind, and he shall not lose any of them, will all of mankind inherit eternal life? John 17:2 - As thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him. Is your understanding of this scripture, that he is going to give eternal life to all mankind?

I think what is being argued by some without their saying so outright is Universal Salvation.

John 10:29 (NASB95)
My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand.

The High Priestly Prayer
John 17 When Jesus had spoken these words, he lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, “Father, the hour has come; glorify your Son that the Son may glorify you, 2 since you have given him authority over all flesh, to give eternal life to all whom you have given him. 3 And this is eternal life, that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent. 4 I glorified you on earth, having accomplished the work that you gave me to do. 5 And now, Father, glorify me in your own presence with the glory that I had with you before the world existed.

6 “I have manifested your name to the people whom you gave me out of the world. Yours they were, and you gave them to me, and they have kept your word. 7 Now they know that everything that you have given me is from you. 8 For I have given them the words that you gave me, and they have received them and have come to know in truth that I came from you; and they have believed that you sent me. 9 I am praying for them. I am not praying for the world but for those whom you have given me, for they are yours. 10 All mine are yours, and yours are mine, and I am glorified in them. 11 And I am no longer in the world, but they are in the world, and I am coming to you. Holy Father, keep them in your name, which you have given me, that they may be one, even as we are one. 12 While I was with them, I kept them in your name, which you have given me. I have guarded them, and not one of them has been lost except the son of destruction, that the Scripture might be fulfilled. 13 But now I am coming to you, and these things I speak in the world, that they may have my joy fulfilled in themselves. 14 I have given them your word, and the world has hated them because they are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. 15 I do not ask that you take them out of the world, but that you keep them from the evil one.[a] 16 They are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. 17 Sanctify them[b] in the truth; your word is truth. 18 As you sent me into the world, so I have sent them into the world. 19 And for their sake I consecrate myself,[c] that they also may be sanctified[d] in truth.

20 “I do not ask for these only, but also for those who will believe in me through their word, 21 that they may all be one, just as you, Father, are in me, and I in you, that they also may be in us, so that the world may believe that you have sent me. 22 The glory that you have given me I have given to them, that they may be one even as we are one, 23 I in them and you in me, that they may become perfectly one, so that the world may know that you sent me and loved them even as you loved me. 24 Father, I desire that they also, whom you have given me, may be with me where I am, to see my glory that you have given me because you loved me before the foundation of the world. 25 O righteous Father, even though the world does not know you, I know you, and these know that you have sent me. 26 I made known to them your name, and I will continue to make it known, that the love with which you have loved me may be in them, and I in them.”

Paul explains in Ephesians 1:13 who the predestined are [those who hear the Gospel and Believe]
You have to consider Eph 1:1 to understand who Paul is speaking to, which is to the saints, which are in Ephesus, and to the faithful in Christ Jesus. When you read Eph 1, you have to pay attention to the words; you, us, we, ye, your, us-ward.

It is those in verse 1 who were trusting, believing, and sealed with that Holy Spirit of promise. If you read verse 14, you will find that they already received the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, which was the earnest (down payment) of their inheritance, given when they were born again.

"For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my way, saith the Lord.
For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts."

All our life is a worship: we must strive to please God. We come with offerings and God accepts them or rejects them. The most desired offering is, of course, ourselves. God wants us to be so faithful that we give ourselves and others to Himself, completely, without looking back at our earthly possessions, social status and earthly goodies that we live behind. Of course, this is a calling for everyone, but not everyone has the heart and mind prepared for such crazy faith.

God prepared His people for the Incarnation (through laws and detailed indications on how to worship, how to maintain a clean faith, uncontaminated by pagan elements, through prophets etc.) and, ironically, those who knew the Bible didn't recognise Him and rejected Him. In fact, there are many situations when people who do not belong to Israel, understand better what Jesus Christ is saying (and believe Him) than those whithin Israel.

Throughout the entire Bible, we notice two things/realities that are mirroring the "Many are called, few are chosen":

1. Few are saved out of a lot (example: Sodomah and Gomorrah, the Flood, few will chose the narrow path in the end of times)
2. The election: God chose Abel, over Cain; He preferred Joseph over his brothers; Jacob over Esau; He chose Abraham to make a covenant with, He chose Mary, the Apostles, John the Baptist etc.; two men will be in the field, one will be taken and the other left; two women will be grinding with a hand mill: one will be taken, and the other left.

The list can go on. I am not finished, but you get the point.

Faith is a gift from God, once you receive it, it's your job to maintain it alive and clean.

and just like the Saints at Ephesus, many Believers today are not educated about the meaning of God so loved the World that [[((WHOSOEVER))]] BELIEVETH shall be Saved.

Ephesians 1:13 literally says the same thing. so clearly Paul is reminding those and us Believers the meaning of John 3:16.

?

i never said Jesus did not know anything, but i also did not mention John 6. not sure what you're thinking here
I'm thinking you might want to read John 6 when thinking anyone can freely choose Christ by their free will.

i never claimed they could. but i do believe at least 1 time in every person's life Christ will knock on their heart and make Himself known. and then, they can choose to accept or deny.

The gift of eternal life is offered to all mankind however not all mankind accepts the gift. That is explicitly written in John 3:16-18.

So, Jesus died on the cross for glory?
John 14:13, “Whatever you ask in my name, this I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.”

Hebrews 1:3, “He is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of his nature . . . .”

Since we’re all made in the image and likeness of God, I would say yes.

Adam and Eve were created in that same image.

“Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?” Jesus answered. “It was not that this man sinned, or his parents, but that the works of God might be displayed in him.” (John 9:2-3)

This world is made up of two different types of people; The unregenerate people and the regenerate people. Do you believe this?

The unregenerate: 1 Cor 2:14, But the natural man (unregenerate) receiveth not (does not accept) the things of the Spirit of God, for (non-elect-goats) they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them (not even spiritual things that are not the deep things of God) because they are spiritually discerned.

John 10:26, But ye believe not because you are not of my sheep.

Matt 25:33, And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left. Matt 25:41, then shall ha say also to them (the goats) on the left hand. Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire.

The regenerate: John 10:4-5, And when he putteth forth his sheep, he goeth before them, and the sheep follow him, for they (elect-sheep) know his voice, and a stranger will they not follow, but will flee from him for they know not the voice of a stranger.

John 10:14-15, I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine.

John 10:11, I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.

John 10:27-29, My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me, and I give unto them eternal
life, and they shall never perish, neither shall any pluck them out of my hand. My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all, and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand.

It is explicitly written why they can't accept the Gospel.
Do you know that verse?
