If you were an atheist, what would you consider a long life for a person to have lived?

What does being an atheist have to do with longevity? If I were an atheist I would say to myself "How stupid do you want to be?"

I would expect a reply like that from an atheist, as they don believe in God, or that he gives eternal life to believers.

I am not an atheist obviously but I would say from a secular point of view, a 100 would be very long life.

I know the Bible speaks of long life as a blessing, but me personally I would not want to live that long, by that age you are usually very weak and frail

100 years is is a long life, except when compared to neve ending life. Compared to eternal life, dying at 100 would be like a child dying.

I'm 97 and frail, and enjoying every minute I live on earth.

This is a subject that I am divided on. The opportunity to live in the Grace of God and see his works on this world is good but I think it will be by far and away better in His eternal kingdom. On the other hand materially I hate this life and this world. All I see when I look at it is suffering, injustice, crime, war, and evil of all kinds.

I am glad to hear it. Do you have hobbies or how do you like to spend your time?
I am deaf so I am very isolated, but I never have a dull moment. I study scripture and read christian fiction. I spend a lot of time on this site. I have a large wonderful prayer shawl that helps me close out the world and spend time listening to the Lord in deep meditation.

Currently, the average life expectancy is 78.

“As for the days of our life, they contain seventy years, Or if due to strength, eighty years.” (Psalm 90:10)

I'd like to live to be 100.
To see where this world ends up given how bad its gotten since I was a child, I'd like to live to see it turn around. Or see Christ's second coming. Whichever comes first.😊

60 years to me seems like a long life. Most seniors I have met dont talk about happiness beyond that, I personally would not like to live to 100, not many live independently so I would not want to live with assistance.

I think of my friends who have left this world and I miss them. I will not worry about when I join them because I will when Jesus reaches his hand put for me.

in the Bible a Generation is connected at times to a lifespan. the normal is 70 years and the blessed live to be 80 or more. this is also why a Generation is still connected to Israel becoming a nation in 1948. 80 years for one Generation put's it at 2028.

but if i was an atheist, i would be stupid and think anything beyond 65, age of retirement + 5 years to enjoy retirement is taking up space on a very over crowded planet.
