“He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.”Psalm 147:3 The Good News: No matter the source of your heartbreak, God can repair your wounds. “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give it to you as the world gives. John 14:27😇

“Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” (Romans 12:2)

“Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in them.” (1 John 2:15)

"Don’t you know that friendship with the world is hatred toward God? Anyone
who wants to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of God.” (James 4:4)

“For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does.” (2 Corinthians 10:3)

"Our citizenship is in heaven, and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ.” (Philippians 3:20)

"You are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may
declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.” (1 Peter 2:9)

“For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light.” (Ephesians 5:8)

“I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us.” (Romans 8:18)

“So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day.” (2 Corinthians 4:16)

If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the
world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you. -John 15:19

Those are all verses accessible to all. How do they or any of them answer my question?

If you cannot relate to Bible verses about not being of the world after asking if it is unusual
to feel that way then I do not know what to say in answer to your subsequent question.

I often feel I'm an alien in this world. Don't seem to have a purpose. I don’t fit into the world, nor into any religions except the type that the apostle James talked about. But I put those feelings of loneliness and uselessness aside, and rest in the goodness of the Lord, and acknowledge that we are all on a path of spiritual growth, and am reminded that God's grace is my sufficiency.

For most of we Christians, our fellowship with other Christians is our ministry, just being there for them and vice versa. As far as the unbelievers are concerned, our ministry for them is that we walk morally upright in their midst, and it is by such chaste behaviour that we might cause some to inquire of our faith, and what we hope for.

I know I , as a believer, am not of this world. We know that Jesus' kingdom is not of this world. I mean I can feel this way, even in church, even after speaking at a gathering, with only positive feedback, so far.

Perhaps I have issues I must deal with.

Yes, well, we've all got those, we can empathise with you.

Why do you feel you do not fit in. Is it because you are not included in church social activities? Do you feel you are not getting positive vibes from the people you fellowship with? Is it because people don't seem to have the same understanding of scripture as yourself?

It is not easy when the church one goes and finds closest to the word of God still does not jive, with the Word of God as much as it should.

Well, for instance, I believe it is not God's will that any Christian be sick. I also believe that the phrase " takes away" in Jn 15 means to be lifted up, as the AIRO in the original Gr says.

I agree. It's not His will, or preference, that any Christian be sick. But in reality, we will be sick because we live in a world that is still cursed by God. It is said of Luke that he was a beloved physician. He was a follower of Jesus, an apostle, yet he was obviously providing medical help to the sick by means other than of the spiritual kind. Paul had a problem with his eyes, yet there's no record that they were healed. Timothy was hit by stomach ailments, I assume from the water he was drinking. Paul told him to mix a bit of wine with the water, I suspect he realised that alcohol kills stomach bugs that live in water. We all have a use by date, and God uses various means to fulfil that in our lives, and mostly by an illness of some kind or other, or an accident or an act of war, or the like.

However, we are told to pray for each other that we may be healed, therefore your pastor should be encouraging that!
