{14} As concerning the {d} gospel, they are enemies for your sakes: but as touching the {e} election, they are beloved for the fathers' sakes.
(14) Again, that he may join the Jews and Gentiles together as it were in one body, and especially may teach what duty the Gentiles owe to the Jews, he emphasises, that the nation of the Jews is not utterly cast off without hope of recovery.

(d) Since they do not receive it.

(e) In that God does not give them what they deserve, but what he promised to Abraham.
Geneva Study Bible really? No wonder you are screwed up.

28, 29. As concerning the Gospel they are enemies for your sakes—that is, they are regarded and treated as enemies (in a state of exclusion through unbelief, from the family of God) for the benefit of you Gentiles; in the sense of Ro 11:11, 15.
but as touching, the election—of Abraham and his seed.

they are beloved—even in their state of exclusion for the fathers' sakes.
You just can't accept failure. No one is enjoying the poor loser attempts you are making.......except me. I love it!

  • The rich man is dressed in linen and purple, a color reserved for royalty, and a fabric associated with luxury.
  • The rich man’s family has access to “Moses and the prophets,” (v.29), a reference the Hebrew scriptures
  • The rich man also calls Abraham "Father Abraham", (v. 24), something that only an Israelite would do.

  • The beggar, Lazarus, is an outsider. He lived a miserable existence outside the rich man's house, hoping to glean just a few crumbs that fell from the rich man’s table.
  • Lazarus lives with the dogs, a derogatory name used for Gentiles. Look at the story found in Matthew 15:21-28, where a Gentile woman asks Jesus for help. Jesus initially refuses her, indicating that He had come for the “house of Israel.” (v.24) “It is not meet,” Jesus says, “to take the children’s bread and cast it to dogs.” Her reply? "Truth, Lord: yet the dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from their masters’ table.” (v.27)
There's no reaching you. You're corrupting the context of Jesus' words because your pride and want to win an argument is consuming you. Satan is into your head, drawing you away from truth.

This response ends my advice to you. I hope the rest ignore you too, so that no vent be given to your lies here on Christian Chat.

One could never reach him or the other two. Their purpose here is entrapment and division. They know not the Bible from a Christian perspective, but from a Judaism prejudice against Christians, hence the efforts at entrapment. That is why one argues, while another goes and starts providing negative feedback ratings while no one is looking. It is a team effort. They got Apwallii and tried desperately to get me, with lies and even calling me a Jew hater several times. After my being reported, they learned they could not get me banned and then learned I am a Jew which opened another line of attack with Watcher even offering me 30 pieces of silver. They lost today, but they will regroup and start afresh tomorrow as they failed their master. But Christ reigned victorious as always. Stay strong. The fiery darts are real. And I am through with them!

well, those are Biblical Scholar and Theologian views.

i guess they cannot be reached since many Pastors use their references and Teachers use their notes.

but let's see if they make sense?

  • The rich man is dressed in linen and purple, a color reserved for royalty, and a fabric associated with luxury.
Luke 16:19 “Now there was a rich man dressed in purple and fine linen, living it up in luxury every day.
that matches
  • The rich man’s family has access to “Moses and the prophets,” (v.29), a reference the Hebrew scriptures
Luke 16:29 “But Abraham says, ‘They have Moses and the Prophets. Let them listen to them.’
that matches
  • The rich man also calls Abraham "Father Abraham", (v. 24), something that only an Israelite would do.
Luke 16:24 So he cried out and said, ‘Father Abraham, have mercy on me!
that matches

SO FAR 3 FOR 3 ABOUT THE RICH MAN
  • The beggar, Lazarus, is an outsider. He lived a miserable existence outside the rich man's house, hoping to glean just a few crumbs that fell from the rich man’s table.
Luke 16:20 But a poor man named Lazarus had been laid at his gate, covered with sores
that matches

Jesus initially refuses her, indicating that He had come for the “house of Israel.” (v.24) “It is not meet,” Jesus says, “to take the children’s bread and cast it to dogs.” Her reply? "Truth, Lord: yet the dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from their masters’ table.” (v.27)
Luke 16:21 and longing to be fed with what fell from the rich man’s table. Besides, even the dogs were coming to lick his sores.

that matches

SO FAR 2 FOR 2 FOR LAZARUS

THAT MAKES 5 FOR 5.

hey, maybe the Bible Scholars and Theologians know what they are talking about!

here's other references to Rich Man as a Jew and Lazarus as a Gentile, TONY:

Who is the rich man in the story of Lazarus?

1. The Rich Man is identified as the Sadducees on similar lines as Cox, noting the Rich Man's high-priestly dress and identifying his five brothers as the five sons of Annas.

Who is Lazarus in the story of the Rich Man?

1.The "beggar" describes both the outcasts of Israel—the "publicans and sinners"—and the Gentiles.
2. Lazarus represents the Gentile nations, who were hungry for the gospel. The rich man represented those who kept the treasure to themselves.
3. 1. The Lazarus of the parable was Eleazar, Abraham's steward (Genesis 15:2). 2. He was a Gentile "of Damascus"

The Scholars and Theologians make a good argument about the rich Man (Jew) and Lazarus (Gentile)

i like how you conveniently left out Verses 9-13 so we understand this is really about Jacob and Esau. i would not mention that either if i was trying to cherry pick certain Verses for a false premise. i've always been one to read the Verses BEFORE and AFTER because that's where the TRUTH is actually told.
Its even more convenient to claim the truth of Scripture isn't really Truth so you can keep on wishing your false philosophy will be true.

Scripture is supposed to change your point of view. Your point of view is NOT supposed to change scripture.

Let me cut in here by adding that the Jews since the destruction of their temple in A.D. 70, no longer have a relationship with God through the law of Moses. As a nation, they were cut off for their sins against God since its inception because they broke the covenant to pieces (Matt. 23:34-39, Luke 19:41-44; 1Thes. 2:14-16), and if that wasn't enough, they killed the Son of God by handing Him to the Romans to be crucified. They killed the prophets and persecuted believers to death. Furthermore, you should search the NT and you will discover that there isn't ONE SINGLE PROMISE to the nation of Israel. The promises are for the body of Messiah whom we are part of because we have placed our faith in our God and Savior who removed our sins, took us out of darkness, and is sanctifying us by faith in Christ.

God finished with Israel 2,000 years ago.

Now, concerning Rom. 11:29, does this scripture suggest that the Jews were supposed to receive salvation without Christ? The elect refers to those who have accepted their election through faith in Christ. and that applies to everyone without exception.

P.S. I don't believe in Replacement Theology.
Galatians 3:29 And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.

What do you do about this one?

well only a few denominations believe Replacement Theory. everyone else does not.
If by replacement theory you mean ALL of Israels blessing and promises are in Christ, then it is quite sad that so few actually understand their own bibles.

I know.

Romans 8:5-7
5 For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.
6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.

Most do believe an additional remnant will be saved before the last day. If they do become saved it will be as part of the body of Christ, ie, the Christian Israel.
Yeah no one ever said anyone came any other way than through Christ.

and yet, Paul shows us the Jews are the Father's Elect.

i don't have to prove anything to you, i just need to see who and what you really are. that much has been established.

Absolutely, they are the chosen people.

my wife has covid and she is quarantined and every 10 minutes asking for this and that.

At the very least we should stop this mess and pray for Mrs. Watcher to recover. Hope she is improving and on her way to health again.
