God throws his glory into the lake of fire?
Psalm 19:1 “The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky above proclaims his handiwork.”

Psalm 66:4 “All the earth worships you and sings praises to you; they sing praises to your name.”

You said the pillars that hold up the flat disk earth originate in hell.
Yes God destroys all the creation by fire at the very end of the world and days.

You said they originate in hell. I said they reach down to it. The entire creation is three levels; heaven, earth, and hell.

Yes, you said the pillars reach down into hell.
Pillars that hold up the flat disc earth.

Where is that appearing in the Bible? As well as what you said about the location of heaven, earth, hell.

Also, have you considered the pillars discussed are metaphorical?

Have you ever seriously considered the pillars to be literal?

I gotta interject here - and don't take this to mean I'm a flat earther, because I ain't - but the Bible DOES say something about everything being destroyed by fire.

Something about how we broke the world with sin, so God's gonna wipe it out and make a new one.

Don't get distracted. That doesn't have anything to do with literal pillars holding up a flat earth.

As I understand it (Gary, Moses, correct me if I'm wrong) they believe the observable planets are balls in our sky, much like the sun and moon - and they believe they are all MUCH smaller than the earth, nowhere near planetary or even lunar status.
Yeah, this is correct (at least with respect to myself). The planets are probably the same thing as stars, but travel on a different path. The sun and moon are the greater lights God created in Genesis, so I give them a special class of their own.

So, some FE's make fun of those know Earth isn't flat. But they believe other planets are globes.

Does that make sense? Why is Earth the only flat one?
[This should be good.] 🌍
I think this is best described as circular reasoning. You assume Earth is a planet (the word planet came from "wandering star"), you presume that that planets are ball-shaped masses, then you ask why "planet Earth" would be different from the other planets. The motion of Earth about the sun has never been scientifically detected. Real science would therefore conclude Earth is stationary, or at best, the motion of Earth is an unproven theory (heliocentric theory). If Earth is stationary, it is not a planet. If Earth is a planet, why doesn't it share other properties of planets, such as glowing with light?

Hmm, yes, well... Cultivate enough bioluminescent mycelia and we can fix that. :sneaky:

That's where flat earth falls apart for me. There's just too much corroborating evidence that can be observed with a regular old telescope. The whole night sky spins, exactly as though we were on a ball spinning on its axis. Also the planets glow only on the side facing the sun. So does the moon, in fact. These facts can be observed by anybody, independent of any government agency.

Though I would not inflict this thread on a friend, I'd love to get Rod in here with his astronomy observations. He's real big on stargazing. He could tell you exactly what to look for in which direction with any telescope, or even with those new superzoom cameras.

Below is a good (but old) Youtube video by Malcolm Bowden, explaining how it is indeed the night sky that spins, rather than the Earth. Malcolm is a Geocentrist rather than a Flat Earther, but the science he describes is pertinent to both views.

Well who said it was a disc?

Quite a few places in the Bible the cosmology is discussed. As for the layout of the creation, Genesis 1. Waters above are heaven, then there is the earth and seas in the middle of creation where we live, and then under the earth is hell. You can also just deduce this off of a multitude of verses.

I have been told it is metaphorical by people that never read the Bible and do not believe anything in it. The biblical cosmology cannot just be a metaphor because it is written about too much and is too detailed and interconnected, and it is too integral to prophecies as well.

I know. I made mention of destruction of earth by fire earlier. Thanks for your input. ☺️💕

If a flat earth isn't disc shaped what shape is it?

Isaiah 40:22
If we're counting the seas, as in the level of the creation where there is the earth and seas, the whole level could be square, thus the four corners and the four pillars.

Earth light. That's the term for the light that emminates from earth. Though some research suggests it's not as bright as it was formerly.

If earth is not a planet what is it?

Wait, you think earth is a cube? Or a flat square?

Lastly, while God inspired the Bible those to whom he was giving his inspiration and those whom would be receiving his words later were of a primitive mind.

They were not sophisticated in the sciences. A simple narrative allowed the people to understand their place in creation.

They also weren't well traveled. They didn't know all parts of the world as we do today. And clearly for God's purposes he wasn't going to inform them of that which they could not comprehend, nor would ever see.

This does not mean nor intend 21st century intellect to conform itself to bronze age consciousness.

Thank you for taking the time to explain your perspective.

On an amusing side note: My uncle has been talking lately about getting one of those tourist space trips. He wants to go to the moon, set up a distillery and make a batch of "earthshine."

If we count the seas that are in the same level as the earth that is defined as the dry land, yes, it is reasonable without breaking the canon that the whole creation is something like that shape.

This is the great error of the modern generations full of unbelievers and liars thinking they are smarter than the men that wrote the Bible and knew the living God who actually created everything.

Your perspective is oddly contradictory.

I did not say the planetary bodies in our solar systems are balls.

You say planet means star.
But you think it's a fixed star. Stationary.

https://www.etymonline.com/word/planet#etymonline_v_16437

Then you ask why doesn't our star, earth planet, give off light. A star that doesn't eminate light?

Earth does give off light. It's called, Earth Light.

Using your theory, explain Eclipse's, moon phases, and sunrise and sunset.

Oh you would fall. You wouldn't fall hard at all, but you would fall.

Actually ingesting it through your space suit... That would be a bigger problem.
