Greater condemnation or damnation means stricter judgment and less leniency.
Sodom and Gomorrah were destroyed on account of 10 righteous people not being found within the city.
Genesis 18
32Finally, Abraham said, “May the Lord not be angry, but let me speak once more. Suppose ten are found there?”
And He answered, “On account of the ten, I will not destroy it.”
That means the city will be judged more strictly if they receive less tolerance than Sodom and Gomorrah.
Now what does this have to do with eternal torment? You never explained that for us.
when your talking about eternal judgement your talking about this day when Christ gathers all people before him
one group receives the promised kingdom
“Then shall the King say unto
them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:”
Matthew 25:34 KJV
the other group receives this
“Then shall he say also unto
them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels: And
these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.”
Matthew 25:41, 46 KJV
That same day is pictured here
“in
flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power;”
2 Thessalonians 1:8-9 KJV
And we’re warned of this judgement here
“For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, but a
certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries. of how much sorer
punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?”
Hebrews 10:26-27, 29 KJV
and here clearly again the same warning
“But after thy hardness and impenitent heart treasurest up unto thyself wrath against
the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God; Who will render to every man according to his deeds: to them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life: but
unto them that are contentious, and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, indignation and wrath, tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that doeth evil, of the Jew first, and also of the Gentile; but glory, honour, and peace, to every man that worketh good, to the Jew first, and also to the Gentile:”
Romans 2:5-10 KJV
Tribulation and anguish , Notice this is written to the CHurch by Paul and includes every man no matter jew or gentile male or female we all have two options of what comes next glory honor and peace or tribulation wrath and anguish
same principle here
“And it came to pass, that the beggar
died, and was
carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom:
the rich man also
died, and was buried; and
in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. And he cried and said, Father Abraham,
have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.”
Luke 16:22-24 KJV
same principle here
“And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If
any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand,
the same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb: and the
smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they
have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.”
Revelation 14:9-11
torment , no rest ever day or night , anguish and tribulation upon thier souls ect it’s consistent and really clear it’s just a matter of whether we can acknolwedge it
there is another world after this one good and evil is what leads people to thier final destination those who serve satans Will on earth are going to inherit his eternal home those who turn to God and accept the gospel are going to inherit his eternal home
The only real question is do these folks eventually die in this tormenting flame ? Or do they just exist forever in that state ?
that part is up for interpretation me there’s always going to be those who see it both ways
