The work of God, not of us. God creates and sustains faith in us. But I'm sure you know that.

Mt approach to doctrine isn’t a preference. I don’t really mind what the Bible says, I just believe it and represent it. I don’t belong to any denominations or anything. I just intensely study the Bible and pray every day.

You clearly have a preference. Or you wouldn't be argumentative and interpret a passage to sustain your arguments.
As I said, I'll leave you to the doctrine you prefer. It would be folly to think to commit to proper exegesis in hopes you'll change your thoughts.

If we think of how Abraham believed, in spite of the natural evidence, or lack thereof, his old body and Sarah's empty dust lined baby shelf. He believed what God said. Could he have 'received' it until that moment?

God disagrees with you. He said believing in Him is a work. Read John 6.
God doesn’t need to work to believe in Jesus so your logic is flawed there. They asked what they can do to do the work of God in John 6 and Jesus told them to believe in Him. That’s a fact so get over it.
No. A Bible discussion is not putting words in Jesus’ mouth. Where did I say “Jesus said…” and then assigned words to Christ He never said? Answer with proof or repent for bearing false witness against me.
