I believe that 100%. But I think that you and I would differ on the source of your information.
God is love, but the love of God cannot be comprehended in your human condition. God's love is also Just, and if you think you are saved because you have been able to replace the original vine, consider how that God tore the original vine out for their failure to seek him, and tremble, because you are not deserving outside of the will of a totally, completely, and entirely Righteous and Holy and Just God.

I'm sorry, but I'm not following how your replies to what I've written relate.

The entire comment has no mention of Jesus, and more importantly, it's a conviction I had to give myself, apparently, since I realized how much I've been doing exactly that for years as soon as I sent it.
But I think the comment stands generally for everyone. We tend to try to talk alot to solve things, in this "enlightened progressive" age. We should be teaching the Gospel, and praying for God to teach, before we go anywhere near our own experiences or fleshly knowledge as examples,

I take the whole "don't throw pearls before swine" comment Jesus made a bit more serious than most

The OP asked for advice on what to do in a situation that involved an abusive man and the advice I gave was appropriate to that ask, and came from myself who has lived under severe abuse..

Only the OP can know whether speaking to the young woman about Christ is appropriate or not, as He is guided by the Holy Spirit.

If he's worried about her, he should be worried first about her soul. God may decide she's going tonight, and all this discussion of what might happen will be academic.

P.S. a bunch of people running around completely ignorant of the faith they claim as their own and the Scriptures which contain the very Word of God telling random people they don't even know to "accept Jesus Christ into their heart" does more actual damage than good - just saying.

The Holy Spirit will and does guide His people to say the right things to the right people at the right time for them.

This is the condemnation. That the light was come into the world and men loved darkness rather than the light for their deeds were evil. For everyone that does evil hates the light, neither come to the light lest their deeds be reproved. But he that does TRUTH comes to the light showing that it is manifest his deeds are wrought of God.
It's not your job to condemn. I suggest that you read the second chapter of the book of Romans.

So I’m back from my sabbatical and while I was away I spoke to my friend. Without accusing him, I encouraged him that should he ever be in a situation with his new girlfriend where he’s overcome with anger or frustration to the point where he may do something he’ll later regret, he can and should call me and I’ll be there for him, and her, and it wouldn’t matter if it was 3pm or 3am. He received my words graciously. We’ll see what happens.

May the seed that you have sown to your friend grow ...
You have walked in love towards this man , may he see your love for him as a friend...
By the way , I love your profile picture...

I have not condemned. I have told you what is right and what is wrong, and the consequences of both. Pick, I beseech thee, the good.
What makes you think that I, or any other Christian, picks what we know to be wrong? It's judgemental types like you that give Christianity a bad name. Are you sinless? Then you have no right to judge unbelievers. It is fine to help the brethren who struggle with a sin. It is not OK to accuse them, especially without foundation. Satan is the accuser of the brethren. You seem intent on throwing stones yourself.

I have the indwelling Holy Spirit to convict me of sin. I don't need a self appointed harbinger of doom to tell me, especially one who knows nothing about me.

1Come, all you who are thirsty,

come to the waters;

and you without money,

come, buy, and eat!

Come, buy wine and milk

without money and without cost!

2Why spend money on that which is not bread,

and your labor on that which does not satisfy?

Listen carefully to Me, and eat what is good,

and your soul will delight in the richest of foods.

3Incline your ear and come to Me;

listen, so that your soul may live.

I will make with you an everlasting covenant—

My loving devotion promised to David.
a

4Behold, I have made him a witness to the nations,

a leader and commander of the peoples.

5Surely you will summon a nation you do not know,

and nations who do not know you will run to you.

For the LORD your God, the Holy One of Israel,

has bestowed glory on you.”

6Seek the LORD while He may be found;

call on Him while He is near.

7Let the wicked man forsake his own way

and the unrighteous man his own thoughts;

let him return to the LORD,

that He may have compassion,

and to our God,

for He will freely pardon.

8“For My thoughts are not your thoughts,

neither are your ways My ways,”

declares the LORD.

9“For as the heavens are higher than the earth,

so My ways are higher than your ways

and My thoughts than your thoughts.

10For just as rain and snow fall from heaven

and do not return without watering the earth,

making it bud and sprout,

and providing seed to sow and food to eat,

11so My word that proceeds from My mouth

will not return to Me empty,

but it will accomplish what I please,

and it will prosper where I send it.

12You will indeed go out with joy

and be led forth in peace;

the mountains and hills will burst into song before you,

and all the trees of the field will clap their hands.

13Instead of the thornbush, a cypressb will grow,

and instead of the brier, a myrtle will spring up;

they will make a name for the LORD,

an everlasting sign, never to be destroyed.”

You don't get to pick what's right or wrong, that's the thing about it. No matter what you do truth always remains, and there are always consequences for going against what is good and true. No lie is good, no matter how much anyone tries to justify it, it will grow like a seed and the fruit thereof shall be a curse.

So when Nazis knocked on the door you would’ve told them Jews were hiding in the house and revealed their hiding places.

For a more serious reply though. If your heart is genuine, I have not said do not tell. I have said tell, but to tell in front of the man's face, though really, you'd be better off telling both not to commit adultery.

If it happened today would you or would you not lie in order to save lives?
I would be Hitler, thanks for asking about scenarios that don't exist. Also, I have some cookies, took me a few minutes to bake, but don't worry, I have a HUGE oven.
Sorry, I'm just tired of that old Zeitgeist built on Communist, Athiest, Nationalist, and Talmudist junk.
