How does one seek forgiveness when they don't know what they're doing, living a sinners life, is wrong and needs forgiving.

Sin is rebellion against God and His plan. No one rebels accidentally.
John 3
19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.
As we see, men choose darkness over light. One doesn't hate things accidentally. It is a choice. All who neglect salvation will be without excuse.
Romans 1:20
“For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:”
John 10:26-28
26 But ye believe not, because ye are not of my sheep, as I said unto you.

None are without excuse. There will be no innocent people in hell. All are accountable for making a choice because all have been presented with a choice.
