Hi,
I was wondering how you my brothers and sisters cope with loneliness. Life in a big city isn't always easy.

Something that has caught on is Zoom groups and other Internet groups to mingle with fellow Christians. Sometimes global plus local ones are exciting to be part of. There is church and check if there are local clubs that match your interests in your area.
Also, I have favorite Christian and some secular programming I watch. Also, you can hang out here as much as you want🤩

"The only thing a person needs in order to be happy, is something to be enthusiastic about."

I am alone a lot but I am not lonely. I have a lot of things I'm enthusiastic about.

Find what lights your fire and fan the flames. You may never get a date, but you'll enjoy the ever-livin' stuffins out of life.

I know all about it having lived in Orlando, Florida for over 20 years, most of it as single person. I was lonely too when I joined this site over 8 years ago. In fact, my introductory thread was called Quite Lonely. Hopefully, you will find meaningful fellowship here. Glad to have you onboard with us. Welcome to CC.

Naturally, and a rather strong dark chocolate, but the smoothest I've ever found. Even "normal" people can appreciate it.

Living in Athens....yeah....life can be lonely in a big city....it's hard to know who to trust at times.
I haven't been to Greece....flown over it. It looked awesome from the sky with so many harbors and inlets...I'm used to straight lines at the coast.

A word about prayer...powerful stuff. Kinda scary too. I got given a lesson quite pointedly by the Big Guy to mind my manners and watch my language because He is listening....even when we don't think He is.

It's OK to ask for a friend. It's OK to be one too. You know how it works...this new normal is just a little uncomfortable because of too many options and not enough directions being told to you.

Give it time and I'm sure you will be just fine.

Since I am trending towards abnormal I better stick with Hershey's.

That, sir, is profanity to a chocolate lover. Never use the H word around people who eat REAL chocolate. :p

Hi,

TabinRivCA (the 2nd post) is right. You can google churches closest to you. try them out. Most have sun morning, some sun evening, some wed meals and fellowship, some bible studies to join, some in person, some on zoom. There's interest and activity groups online, "Meetup - We are what we do", on Facebook you can find local fun nights groups. You have to be courageous.

find a church, or small group bible study
When was in a big city all by myself and not knowing anybody, just ask God to send you friends/show you what to do
The library is always a place to go because books can be your friends and will stop you feeling lonely, they speak to your soul.
The other thing is you need to reach out dont always expect ppl to come to you.

You welcome. Im a big city gal..sometimes you just need to put on your big city girl pants. As they say

I have a friend that came from the country. She says her boyfriend had to calm her when she first moved to the city and just think of all the people were like cows in the pasture, minding their own business. They werent all out to get her. And maybe they wanted to be friends too.

You are not the only one.

Hi,
I was wondering how you my brothers and sisters cope with loneliness. Life in a big city isn't always easy.

Read Psalms 139 when you feel lonely. You will find that there is no plce you can go where God is not present. If He is present, and I am confident He will be, I am sure He is ready for a conversation with you. Just a thought that helps me often.
