my dad used to tell me he was praying that God would do whatever it takes to wake me up to want to follow God. many years passed and i was involved in a 3 car collision that the authorities can't reason why we were all saved and unscathed. 1 car flipped over, the other had no front end, and the 3rd even caught on fire. not a single person had a scratch on them. then it donned onto me, "praying that no matter what it takes for God to do so I will choose to serve God."

some how in our denial of God He gives most of us several chances to change. i don't know how many chances i had before finally saying i choose to follow God, but i do know the idea my dad was praying that whatever it took really bothered me. so when something did actually happen, i had enough and just said no more of this.

My comment had nothing to do with works salvation. You quoted the wrong post.

What is tje salvation spoken of here in chapters 9,10?

Sadly some folks listen to spiritual messages that are not from God. However there is hope. One has only to believe that God calls all to repentance, notwithstanding some respond negatively. This does not mean God created them to party with the devil in the lake of fire.

If Calvinism is true, (which of course it isn't), then God alone wills and brings about His will. If it is His will that all men may be saved, then who hinders Him?

"The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance." II Peter 3:9​
Do Calvinists believe God is also confuseetsd on the matter?

Everyone in 2 Pet3:9 gets saved.God is not willing that sny spoken of here, gets lost.

Calvinism is older than its namesake. It's also taking from scripture to form the doctrine.

Whosoever, none should perish, and so forth, when reading about who God saves I think has to be taken in context to what God said about who he saved before creating people. Or the world.

All that God intends to save can only be those God told us he elected for salvation before creating this world.

If everyone could come to saving grace Jesus wouldn't have delivered the good news in a manner he admitted not everyone was to understand. Because not everyone was meant to understand. Which means they weren't elected for salvation. As Jesus also said.

If everyone is meant to be saved God could manifest that in an instant. Just as easily as he condemned everyone, everyone, in the future to die in the sins the first man brought into the world.

Two of the first people. And God condemned everyone to ever live after that for sin that entered the world by one man.
He could just as easily save the whole world that was condemned by one man and Godin an instant. And bring that whole world salvation due to the death of one man.

But he didn't.

Jesus and God both show not everyone is intended by God to be saved. This was his will before the world was created.

God bestows faith and salvation upon his elect. As a free irrevocable gift of his grace. We do nothing. It's God that does it.Not us.

That's not what Jesus said about why he taught in parables.

It sounds like you have been given revelation of the doctrine that Christ taught. I am in agreement.

Calling upon the name of the Lord is not the "cause" of our eternal deliverance,(salvation), it is evidence that we have already been given the security of our eternal inheritance. We call upon the name of the Lord through Jesus in our prayers.

All of those spoken of in 2 Pet 3:9 have already had their eternal inheritance secured. If they commit a sin they separate themselves from God's fellowship, temporary, until they repent to be delivered (saved) from the consequences of the sin as they sojourn here in this world.

I explained my views on 2 Pet 3:9, but you must not have understood them. Go back and "reread" it and if you still think that I did not address it, let me know. I try to give an answer to every question that is ask, so if I failed to do so, let me know.

Salvation, according to Strong's concordance, means "deliverance". After we have been born again, we call upon the Lord through Jesus in our prayers. This is something that the unregerant will not do because he thinks it to be foolishness because he cannot discern spiritual things.. When we repent and God forgives us, we are delivered (saved) from the consequence of that sin. This is a deiverence that that we receive as we sojourn here in this world. If you apply all of the salvation scriptures to eternal life, they would teach eternal salvation awarded by your good works.

There are many saivations (deliverances) that we receive as we sojourn here in this world. The inspired words of God are instructions he gives as to how he wants his adopted children to live their lives here on earth.

When you are born again you are quickened to a spiritual life by God changing your stony heart for a fleshy heart that causes you to feel guilty when you commit a sin. The un-regenerant person will not repent of breaking one of God's spiritual laws that he cannot discern (1 Cor 2:14).
