Love, what is it really? ESV 1 Corinthians 12:31 But earnestly desire the higher gifts. And I will show you a still more excellent way.

ESV John 15:5 I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.

ESV Proverbs 19:21 Many are the plans in the mind of a man, but it is the purpose of the LORD that will stand

1 Corinthians 13English Standard Version Anglicised (ESVUK)

The Way of Love

13 If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. 2 And if I have prophetic powers, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. 3 If I give away all I have, and if I deliver up my body to be burned,[
a] but have not love, I gain nothing.

4 Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant 5 or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful;[
b] 6 it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. 7 Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

8 Love never ends. As for prophecies, they will pass away; as for tongues, they will cease; as for knowledge, it will pass away. 9 For we know in part and we prophesy in part, 10 but when the perfect comes, the partial will pass away. 11 When I was a child, I spoke like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I gave up childish ways. 12 For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I have been fully known.

13 So now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love.

With my tears I prayed to God to obtain the gift of love for you and for me, and to live a holy life..

Pray for one another without ceasing; please ask others to do the same. Thank you

Surely, the passage of versus in Chapter 13 are a perfect definition of love. I am a bit wee confused why you included the first three passages which are not as descriptive?

Perfect love cast out all fear.
Putting others above yourself...there well being...
Love is always a sacrifice...it can put you in harms way...it does humility,...but its intent should always be to glorify the father.
Love is found in both....edification and rebuke. It is found in salvation and judgement.

Because Karen has been entrusted with a layer of Understanding, Knowledge, and Wisdom that others have not been given.

Love, what is it really
Love is the fullness of God, which passes knowledge.
Love is the 10 commandments given and shown through the death and victory on the cross.
Love is the glory of God.
Love is the face of God.
Love is the rest of God freely given to all that find and enter.
Love is the Giver of life and light.
Love is joining and becoming one in spirit with God.
Love only comes from God.
Love is knowing God.
Love is the all consuming fire no darkness can comprehend.
Love is the purifier.
Love is the eternity of God.
Jesus Christ is love.
When it's all about love, it's all about Jesus!

“Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren. But whoso hath this world's good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him? My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth. And hereby we know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our hearts before him.”
‭‭1 John‬ ‭3:16-19‬ ‭KJV‬‬

had Jesus just said he loved us and yet not acted in this love , would it have actually been love ?

When we love someone we care about thier needs , we care about thier feelings and we care enough for it to love us to action. Without a mother feeding her child can she say I love this child ? Without an able bodied father providing for his family , can he say I love them really ?

our actions tell the truth of what’s in our heart whether love , grudges , hate , greed , pride Ect I loved your post and pray God answers I just wanted to add this scripture so we can see that love isn’t just a feeling or thought or emotion but it roots the actions of love
