I was dragged up in a denominal church (Christmas and Easter mainly) ,dropped out of it when I became a teenager as my Father did not believe in anything much , and I never had proof of a God; but none could disprove God to my satisfaction , so if there was one hope the good outweighs the bad and maybe I will make it ? but while I'm here get involved with what the world has to offer.
No time for religious talkers ; but one day 2 guys came to my door and all they said was we are from the ARC !! (normally shut the door on religious types) ; but as I worked for the "Australian Railways" and just the day prior put an application for a new car loan at Aust. Rail. Credit union !
well these guys are on the ball !? new car coming right up !
Once inside I saw it was bibles they had not briefcases; oh well started with Adam and Eve etc; buy the end of our conversation I was totally convinced about Baptism by full immersion and must be when you are of an age to Repent ! but thought I already had the Holy Spirit (a must have), as I kissed a bishops ring and was daubed with oil on my forehead. So the next Sunday I went to this Assembly, ready to get Baptized so if God is, then I've covered my bases ! During the meeting the gifts of the Spirit were operated Tongues, Interpretation and Prophecy (max 3); and was really put off ,thought what money making nonsense is this !? for some reason I still got baptized but did not receive the Holy Spirit the way they attested; and as the week progressed I couldn't get God out of my head ; so I asked my girlfriend to come and see this mob as she knew a little more about religious stuff !, then she got up and was baptized !!
At this point I was asked to have some prayer and see what God has to say !? after a few moments I received the Holy Spirit (with the biblical evidence of speaking in tongues) and was overwhelmed by the experience to really get contact from the Living God for the the first time ever. So overwhelming the experience two weeks past before I realized I had not touched any cigarettes' , alcohol , drugs, no more migraines (suffered all my life), no abusive lingo, no withdrawals just ended with no desire to have that stuff at all, even told my father about it and how the healing is still available today just have to do it Gods way and he was healed from cancer so he could no longer deny God and with my Mother was Baptized and both received the Holy Spirit (with the bible evidence of speaking in Tongues ,just as the first churches).
I have had other miracles, through my days and life is not always a bed of roses but with the comforter (the Spirit) he makes it easy and to KNOW Jesus is real because he makes the contact ,is the greatest. Amen
