We know He only did what He saw the Father do, He only said what He heard the Father say. At the Crucifixion He prayed that not one the Father had given Him had He lost.

I think that is debatable. Our laws are based on the ten commandments. I don't think our laws are based on the laws of Rome. During Jesus day, it was Rome who was ruling the Jewish people.
I would like to see some scripture for your arguments.

That might be historically true, but I still can't think of any scriptures to back up that claim.

Jesus did rebuke Peter for that act of violence.

That's an alarming statistic. I don't fault people for wanting to
keep their guns knowing how corrupt our governments can be.

I went through all his movies chronologically a number of years ago, being a long-time fan.
I did go out of order to keep watching the Dirty Harry movies consecutively, though. But that
one with Burt Reynolds? I don't think I could watch it all the way through. So not my genre LOL.
I give him a lot of credit for keeping the same guys as part of his crew working with him over many years.
You can't buy that kind of loyalty. Though the way he treated Sandra Bullock was something else

I'm not for or against "self defense" I realize that it's a hard subject with different ways of looking at it. But I think people should be turning to scripture, try and figure this out. I wasn't seeing much of this.

As believers, we don't want to hurt anybody...we want to help people. But sometimes in this world, in order to help someone, you're gonna have to hurt someone else. You protect the innocent...and those that can't protect themselves.
Even if I was fully justified, if I had to shoot someone, I'd feel terrible. I've learned that I have to deal with things the way they are, not the way they should be. I can't imagine growing up in today's world.
We each have to decide in our own hearts what is right.

I wonder if everyone is forgetting that 10 out of 10 die. Keeping someone from killing another person is only prolonging the life of that person. But eventually the person will die. So the only reason I can see to stop someone from killing another person is so that the person might get a chance to accept Jesus as lord and savior.

I feel the same way. This life hasn't been easy. And I know others have had an even harder life. I hear that point. The reason why God allows us to live, is so that we can reach more people for him.

I kinda thought that's what I said, our laws are called Judeo/Christian laws for a reason. If we take " turn the other cheek" to the extreme that would mean an abused wife should stay with her husband, that we shouldn't stop child or elder abuse. I don't believe that's what those verses are saying. I don't believe the Bible is against self defense.
In case anyone doesn't know the best steps to field dressing a deer this is the best way to do it. First thing run straight over to it and grab it by the head and twist as hard as you can, twist it round and round until you can see the wires and then flip it over and where it's belly is is a square cover,,,take it off(a few Phillips screws) and take the battery out. Then go back to the head and find the wires and cut them with your wire cutters. If your hunting with a buddy give him your phone and he can be calling a lawyer while your doing it. Next up "how to skin a cat",, I admit though I don't care for their taste much so I'm not as good at it as I am with deer...
