I don't even know what apologetics is . Is that a forum for saying SORRY ?
The word
apologetics itself stems from the Greek word apologia, which means simply an answer given in reply.
One definition of apologetics:
“… arguments or writings in justification of something, typically a theory or religious doctrine.”
So in a forum like this one, in theory at least,
apologetics would refer to a systematic argumentative discourse, which doesn’t sound too bad.
In apologetic discussions alternative views of a topic are offered for discussion. It doesn’t have to be argumentative in the sense of being quarrelsome, however, to be honest, it too often becomes a heated discussion because (many) people are very passionate about their beliefs and are very emotionally invested in having their views prevail, often more so than in compromise or consensus.
Not everyone will agree with my thoughts here, but this is one view.
