sorry just joining in
I dont understand the whole Vietnam US thing whether they were trying to take over the country or what
as wasnt born then, even today, the Nzers who went to war there do NOT want to talk about it, like they are ashamed about the whole thing
But a friend of mine did go there on a trip
I asked if she went to the orphanage that Christina Noble founded, she said, she went past but it was not open or she couldnt get in
I just remember a movie was made after shed written the book, about how there were so many orphans and nobody to care for them...now a lot of these young children would have grown up, finding ways to fend for themselves, and also, hoping to learn English
because if you can communicate, you wont be misunderstood.
Room to Read apparently opened a lot of libraries and schools there, it was one of the first countries after Nepal that desperately needed books, teachers and schools for their children but not just in elnglish but also, in their own langauge
