I wear what's comfortable. But have to say regular jeans are not a good fit for holiday dinners. Need expansion ,just saying ;)

I enjoy occasional Chinese take-out. Not on my lap though. That must've been a funny scene in that food court.
it was not funny for me!

but I can look back on it and laugh...now
I was with that same friend who convinced me to buy those jeans

its funny cos she ended up being a fashion model while I was deemed 'too short'
hence reason for the cuffs, short legs huh! Back in the day, you had to be of amazonian proportions

she was a good friend though, she didnt laugh when that happened like some ppl would have

But it so happens whenever I wear something someone else thinks I look good in something comes along to ruin the whole experience

for example, one time a friend went to bali and bought me back a t shirt that said BALI on it. Which by the way I never asked for, cos I dont ask ppl for gifts when they go away
anyway I was like, oh thanks because, well she hadnt invited me I was just looking after her house and daughter while she was away

but I felt odd because she really wanted me to wear this t shirt
and I really didnt want to because I know if I did people would ask me if Id been and I hadnt
and it would be awks

she kept asking me was I wearing it?
and I was like ok it was black and I dont like wearing black it gets too hot in summer, so I just said no its too hot

and then the tshirt mysteriously disappeared

yea I just get given clothes like a rag doll lol, just wear peoples cast offs whatever, but actually I like choosing my OWN clothes I dunno, its just gives me something thats me- after all Im the one wearing it I guess and know what fits and suits. Other people just dont.

Maybe they dont know how it feels to be dressed up like a doll and paraded around ..for women its a thing we never really seem to be in control of. everyone is looking and judging. always.

From little up, I've always worn blue jeans, except for when I went to church.

If I am working...jeans are my go to. Yes...finding a good "cheap" pair is hard. But I'm not above going to second hand stores to get them in my price point. When I was younger...it was easier. I could wear guys jeans back then. They were always cheaper. Yeah...the good ole days. Oh well. I love them because they are durable...and HAVE POCKETS. However...slacks and other 'dress up' clothes are a necessity in life. So...why not have jeans for some and lace and twill for something else. Ya don't have to have it one way or the other. You can have both. :)

its weird how a lot of womens clothing doesnt have pockets

as if women dont need to have a place to stash things

I always thought it was either skimping on material or you had to have a bag
and then the bags? I would never carry a handbag, always a shoulder bag
who carries a handbag and then has no hands free to do anything?

Apparently back in the day women were pushing for rational dress, but it still hasnt got very far. A lot of things we wear are irrational

my twins bros came for dinner and both wearing levis jeans
one is wearing light blue ones and the other dark blue ones

original? but different?
Im being rebellious and just wearing my green trackpants/sweat pants. but Im at home and can wear what I like lol

one of the reasons why I dont wear jeans is I dont really want to wear what my brothers wear, and dont want to get our clothes mixed up.

I mean am all for equality and that, but why must it be only one way, women can wear mens clothes but men must never wear womens clothes that dont make sense. if a man really wants to wear a jeans skirt cos its more comfortable then he should!

tshirts seem fine, as they are truly unisex though you can now get those weird 'fitted tees' for women that are too tight

what about jeggings, a cross between leggings and jeans. What will they come up with next?

It was in church that I was delivered from wearing white sneakers.

In my youth, I used to wear jeans and white sneakers (I HATE white sneakers now, and I haven't worn any for the last 33 years). One day, while in church, I saw this guy wearing jeans with black sneakers, and I immediately got converted.

I've never looked back...

True story.

no jeggings go saggy and baggy at the knee after a few wears
and the skin tightness and pockets just dont go together,
if you gonna wear leggings just do the decent thing and wear the sports ones that have support

or wear stockings with skirt to cover your butt

I just think some jeans are deliberately made too long its not that my legs are short

I came across this in the book I am reading at the moment
Piano Rock. a 1950s childhood by Gavin Bishop

'On our way home from seeing the queen we stopped in Lumsden and Mum bought me my first pair of jeans. In fact, they were the first pair of jeans the Lumsden drapers had ever sold. And they were certainly the first pair to be worn by anyone in Kingston. They were lined with tartan and when Vic Gherkin saw me get off the bus he said I looked like Tom Mix, the cowboy.
My ears pricked up. "cowboy? "I asked. "As in cowboys and Indians?"
"Yes" he said. "Just like in the pictures"

.....
this was in 1953 when the queen had her first royal visit to nz. I didnt know jeans were lined with tartan. But yea, I guess it was 'cool' to be a cowboy, as nobody wanted to dress as an Indian. But actually in nz, when we say someone is a cowboy, its not a compliment, it usually means a tradie whos shoddy with his job or a con artist.

why dont you wear them to church, just wondering
i mean anything goes these days
Yeah... Well... Part of it is, well... It keeps my parents happy. They don't like the whole "Everything Goes These Days" They complain about it... Personally it doesn't bother me to wear one or the other, so i just didn't try to do anything different around them...

oh ok

well
cant wear jeans on White Sunday as they are blue
otherwise, could wear them all the other Sundays.

The blue dye is actually originally indigo, but nowadays its chemicals. I dont know if indigo is still used or how you can tell which jeans are using the original dye. Because of the jeans that look already ripped up when they are new and faded and dirty. Dirty denim is a 'fashion statement' apparently

I couldnt understand why someone would have ten pairs of jeans in their wardrobe except to give the appearance they were wearing the same thing everyday.

if you going all out for the western look, why not wear chaps, shirt, scarf and cowboy hat as well.

according to levi strauss website, they have banned cotton from Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan cos of child slavery

though why other countries cotton would not be produced using child labour as well I dont know...many farmers do use child labour, because there are no schools to send their children and they need extra hands.
(farming families actually work their children...part of the reason for having them)

the ones who sew the jeans wont be that old either...mostly produced in sweatshops. But then this goes for other mass produced garments not just jeans. However jeans is an example because I have never seen anyone make their own jeans unlike, a dress which you CAN sew yourself.

Today everyone wore lavalavas to school as was samoan langauge week

we dont celebrate american langauge week or anything like that, but if we did, I guess we would wear jeans. To dress like americans do.

However we did have a pink shirt day, which started in the US when a boy was bullied for wearing a pink shirt. I dont know if he wore jeans with it as well or it was JUST a pink shirt.

nzers kind of think its a weird thing to do, to bully or tease someone for the colour of their shirt. I mean wt?
clothes come in all colours now, get over it!

Green jeans never really took off but I do wear green chinos that look kind of 'jean' like. And they sold them in the just jeans store so, they could pass for jeans if you colour blind.

I guess I just wanted to be different cos everyone else seemed to wear blue or black jeans and I thought that was boring. Also, I would know those are MY jeans as they are the green ones.

They even have the 'just jeans' label on the inside so I can claim they are actually jeans as thats what the label says.

reading the book on jeans

Jeans a cultural history of an american icon by James Sullivan

so far...up the 1950s

the evolution seems to have been... tough miners workpants >cowboys > hollywood cowboys > rebel and wild one movies> juvenile delinquints> teenagers fashion item> ...?
