Don't care?

Please I want to know.

I'm guess Im in the don't care category. I dont care for jeans. I dont know why they are so popular. I dont know why everyone wears them, for me they are just so uncomfortable and expensive. There are much more comfortable and stylish clothes you could wear, in other colours.

When I was younger I was pressured into wearing them cos they were the 'cool' and trendy item to wear, but I never liked them.

My reasons...well I will expand on them further, but just want to bullet point why they are not in my wardrobe anymore

-pockets? too many, and on your butt, but you cant fit anything in them and its like you are feeling your butt when you slip your hand in there...or someone elses hands?!
-waistband...either too tight or need a belt to hold them up, and EXTRA item to buy
- creates muffin top when low waisted
-when high waisted is hard on your stomach
-cuts off circulation when too tight
-fades
-gets torn and holey so look like you wearing rags
- take ages to dry
-heavy when wet
-dont keep legs warm when its winter
-held on with rivets?!
-everyone wears them, boring
- mostly come in blue or black, black for gang members, blue for everyone else who cant be bothered
- then have to find matching top
-skinny ones nightmare to put on and pull off
-baggy ones fall down, your knickers exposed or worse, g-string

just bad bad bad fashion...
sorry...if you love jeans! you can state your case for them I dont mind, want to hear all points of view

They are so popular because they are durable, affordable and comfortable.

All the things you listed are caused by buying the wrong kind of jeans. Get the right size and get a brand that is not popular but not cheaply made.

Or don't. I mean you don't have to try to find a pair of jeans that fit you right. You can wear whatever you want. But just because you once tried on a pair of jeans that fit badly doesn't mean all jeans are a bad idea for all people.

At first glance I thought that @Lanolin was discussing Jesus...then I read the title a little closer .....and WHEW!

I grew up wearing denim. Tough skins was the "second rate" when the cool kids were wearing Levi's.
We could only afford tough skins.

But considering how hard we were on clothes they were a good thing to wear.

Today they are my "go to" for regular work. So I really don't think about it.

501 button fly is my favorite...but I'll wear wranglers or whatever.

Jeans...jean jacket...denim shirt...Levi socks...I'd wear denim underwear if they were available. Pre-washed, of course. I love cotton!

I think you are wearing the wrong jeans. They shouldn't be getting worn out quickly, or be to tight or too saggy. They should fit well at the waist and be loose everywhere else.

It's hard to find actual denim jeans anymore, especially women's jeans - they're all made of some kind of rubber?? and it's getting harder to find ones that aren't skinny and don't have low cut waists designed to show your underwear!

+1 for actual jeans that fit.

Oh and they always fit better after a couple of days of wearing them after they're washed. They need to loosen up some.

I like boot-cut and a change pocket is an added plus. I call it a pick-pocket. Jeans do need to be broken in, but once they are, they are like an old friend. I avoid trendy jeans, preferring to buy ones made from new denim. Genuine fade and holes, just like me. :)

Women should wear jeans! Unless you don't like them, that is. I just can't imagine a world where women don't wear jeans.

why should women wear jeans?
they are a pain to wash
they dont go with anything
they are kind of ugly IMHO

there are other nicer more comfotable clothes to wear like cordoroys, khakis or cargo pants

also, you cant wash them with other things as the water goes blue when the dye runs and ruins all yor other clothes

Spandex is included in some clothing items usually in amounts not greater than 5%.

The whole low rise craze was a bit ridiculous. But jeans that go right up to
the waist can be less comfortable than those that sit just below the waist.

That's why people separate their wash loads into whites, lights, and darks.

The color will not run forever, either.

Some believe jeans go with pretty much anything.

Hence their popularity is at least in part due to versatility.
And I'm one of those people.

I mean, what doesn't go with a pair of black jeans?

Anyhow, here's my personal take on clothing in general, and others are free to vehemently disagree.

Whereas the world will tell people things like "Dress for success" and "Clothes make the man", I dress in a manner which I believe brings glory to God.

For me, that manner is that I have somewhere around 100 different Christian-themed t-shirts and hoodies, many of which I've designed myself, that I wear regularly with a pair of either black or faded blue jeans (not too fond of the dark blue jeans) and my trademark black sneakers (Usually Pumas...sometimes Reeboks).

God only knows how many conversations about Jesus/the Bible have been started simply because of the way that I dress.

I still remember the first Christian-themed t-shirt that I bought shortly after I got saved and why I bought it.

Believe it or not, I used to be the biggest coward on the face of the earth...to the point that I would literally almost faint (my head would literally spin) if I needed to talk to someone.

Well, that type of personality doesn't bode too well with preaching the gospel to every creature and/or not being ashamed of Jesus and his words.

One day, I was at a Flea Market, and there was a man there who did airbrushing. I had him airbrush me a t-shirt which simply read "Jesus saves"...and the rest, as they say, is history.

You have no idea how much I struggled initially to just wear a shirt like that out in public.

If you read some of the designs that I now wear, then you might wonder how somebody hasn't thrown me off of a cliff by now.

Anyhow, that's my two cents worth.
