Most of the people I've met who say they have aspbergers are actually pretty cool people. Above average on the cool scale, really. I don't even know why its considered a disorder.

Because he has to be a member of society in order to function and survive.

The boy will trade words he has to say every day for household chores. 1,000 words a day isn't a lot. Some kids won't stop talking. But this 12 year old is brilliant....top marks in schoolwork.

But just finds it difficult to talk. It's really difficult for him. But talking is essential to living in a city. From ordering food to buying clothes. He has to overcome the issues....no different than any other child.
Overcoming impediments is a normal part of life. We all have things we have to overcome to be a part of normal society. Hearing loss, color blindness, endocrine disorders, allergies and etc. Talking is just another thing to overcome.
I worked with deaf people who spoke in sign langauge and also ESOL ...

I think its more important that people know how to read, literacy will get you a lot of places that talking will not.

people that talk all the time arent necessarily 'normal society'. In fact some people talk too much, so that they have verbal diarrhea and assault the airwaves, and they bully other people with their talk. So talking for the sake of talking cant be forced.

Find the langauge people are comfortable in and learn to speak it. God basically cut off communication for 400 years cos even when He spoke, peoole didnt listen. Then people complained God wasnt there but He was still there, just speaking through His prophets

When Jesus spoke, he spoke nothing but the truth

In a way, this is how to understand some autism as they can be completely honest when they DO speak, without guile or manipulation.

That's not exactly true. That little guy can be a con artist when he wishes to...
He's a child...no different except for the lack of talking.
Which his parents are working with him on. As well as his school. He's not a "Rainman" idiot Savant...

I will get to know him well when he begins to work with me on making bread and pastries. That sort of work makes him happy. Repetitive and monotonous.

Child slaves..I mean child helpers are great. They can't eat as much.

oh ok, I just figured some could be blunt when choosing to talk to people and thats why social difficulties cos people have itching ears and like to hear what they want to hear

I didnt know that you could con someone without talking to them, usually con artists go round flattering and sucking up to people with self-serving talk and lies.

my former boss sometimes talked way too much and that sometime put customers off and his partner complained that he would just keep talking to customers when all they wanted to do was buy their items and get out of the shopping mall and not spend hours there

heard back from my autistic neighbour who I write to and he said (or wrote) that in the olden days if you were diagnosed autistic generally people stuck you in an insittution that you could never leave (ppl still do that now though)

and they are not always the best places to live either

He does write that, he takes some medicine for anxiety. i think its common to need to take something as otherwise he gets panic attacks from being overwhelmed. Just too much, imagine having a thin skin and not having much to protect you from the everyday drama of life. Because you often dont get conversation or read emotions unless they are very obvious.

I think education is very important though, but a lot miss out because mainstream schools wont take them. and public schools can be very bullying places its just often the nature of them (teachers can be bullies too)

I am high on the spectrum but have always struggled with talking with people and knowing how to say or ask the right things. It's an alone feeling inside me all the time that is hard to explain right and it is always harder to talk in person and always harder to talk with a male but its also a feeling to feel close to one but its hard for me. A lot of times I just stay quiet and I know I am a quiet person too much because the shyness feelings never go away is how it feels.

I don't really have a dad he left when I was 2 so I don't remember him at all and I am their only child, it was just Mom and I growing up.

oh then it must be hard then

even without autism not having any siblings to talk to, you can only talk so much with a mum and growing up, mums dont really converse all that much...a lot of mums actually dont like their kids talking and expect their children to be seen and not heard

theres pets, but pets speak another language....

I read another book by Temple Grandin
she got on better with cattle and horses than people

I think because you can communicate with animals by touch, or stroking
apparently her dad wasnt around much and had a temper.

animals frighten easily and are afraid of humans because we treat them roughly and arent gentle
its hard for them to trust us

I have a hunch that is what happens to babies, soon or just after birth, but thats only a hunch, whether its the nurses or a parent ...and their brains are so fragile. anything rough can easily disconnect the brain when its still growing

plus chemicals in drugs used during pregnancy and labour.

This is because the behaviours of animals in captivity and held in isolation look quite similar to autistic behaviours, eg pacing, stimming, language delay, they dont know who their parents are etc.

parents of autistic children were angry they got labelled refigerator mothers, but nothing was ever said about the fathers. so...? I dont think mothers ought to be blamed, but a closer look needs to be taken at the fathers role in parenting. it seems half the time the dad isnt even there.

we know at Jesus birth Joseph was present the entire time, that Mary did not give birth and raise Jesus alone.

I watched Rain Man

I had never seen that movie before
I liked it, although, I dont quite believe Dustin Hoffman and Tom Cruise could be brothers since theres a huge age gap between them.

In a lot of movies the mum dies when the child is like 2. But that rarely happens, far more common is the baby is the one who dies...

according to the Rain Man story, neither parents were very good with their sons
