Yeah, I think the NES/Famicom is what really broke the mold. If they didn't improve over the years it no doubt would have fizzled. But with that amount of passion and enjoyment it brought I can't possibly imagine them not improving.Yeah but that was in 1982. Do you remember video games in 1982? I do. If video games had stayed there... yeah, no, they would not have lasted.
They lied, it was probably reverse psychology to get people to buy video games. Or propaganda to get people to buy them to keep idle people busy while politiciams destroy the economy and pass unethical legislation. An article on video games in 1982View attachment 239928
Do you take it as a personal challenge to turn any topic into a conspiracy theory? They lied, it was probably reverse psychology to get people to buy video games. Or propaganda to get people to buy them to keep idle people busy while politiciams destroy the economy and pass unethical legislation.
Hahaha no not any topic. But think about it why do we have tv, and video games and all these other distractions that take up our time and prevent us from doing anything productive, and take our minds off being in church, or what our government is doing or how our economy is doing???Do you take it as a personal challenge to turn any topic into a conspiracy theory?
"Early video games? Challenge accepted!"

Why are all these things created that get our minds off serious topics or topics that really matter??
It is very possible, and I totally agree, yeah that would explain why I am here lol.Wonder if people said the same thing about radios and movies during the Great Depression .... also gotta wonder how church made the greatest story ever told so boring that people can no longer stay interested in it. But this thread is for laughing so......
if when they added vocal soundtracks to movies they called them talkies, when they add scent accompaniment to movies will we start calling them smellies ? And will they add that to movies with bad smells or just ones with nice fresh outdoor scenes? I mean picnic in the park we all want to smell..... two day old battlefield or morgue not so much.
They said they same about novels when printing got easier. Churches do this about every new media that shows up. Awhile ago it was impossible for Christians to get into game design because churches said video games were evil. Ever heard of the Five Night at Freddy's games? The creator used to be a Christian game designer. But he got so much hassle from the church he just became a game designer. Now there targeting social media and the meta stuff. Same crap different media.Wonder if people said the same thing about radios and movies during the Great Depression .... also gotta wonder how church made the greatest story ever told so boring that people can no longer stay interested in it. This is kind of the reason I don't condtribute to descussion much on this site anymore. It's hard to build validation to the Christian faith when it's members are subscribing to pointless speculation and the most absurd conspiracy theories.Do you take it as a personal challenge to turn any topic into a conspiracy theory?

Off topic! We're supposed to be discussing early video games being sinister or something...There's an old saying, "Location, location, location is everything!" That saying even applies as to where one holds their worship services:
The Argyle Sweater by Scott Hilburn for May 14, 2022 - GoComics
It's doggone entertaining though. This is kind of the reason I don't condtribute to descussion much on this site anymore. It's hard to build validation to the Christian faith when it's members are subscribing to pointless speculation and the most absurd conspiracy theories.
For some perhaps. For me it's another reason to question my faith and humanity. It's doggone entertaining though.
Did you ever think they were right look at all the churches closing now a days for compromising their stand and following the world. They said they same about novels when printing got easier. They are right sometimes. However most of there fights are fear mongering and most likely greed related. Unfortunately far too few do any research on what there complaining about and mearly follow the leader. When I was a kid I heard that people would break into peoples houses and burn Goosebumps books. I didn't believe it as a kid but I do now. Regardless of what churches do or don't do the world will HATE us. I constantly hear about the end times and people s hearts growing cold, but everytime someone says no to a Christian for any reason the far right freak out. If movies and books can reach people and preach the Gospel, there is zero reason video games or social media can't. Believe what you want but I'm tired of living in constant fear.Did you ever think they were right look at all the churches closing now a days for compromising their stand and following the world.
Oh come on!Did you ever think they were right look at all the churches closing now a days for compromising their stand and following the world.
