Funny story...
I bought the biggest, most equipped fishing kayak that Walmart had when I first moved to N Alabama. I see people doing it all the time and it looks fun! I let the boat hang out the back of my truck and headed straight from the store to some calm backwaters... I only owned that thing for about an hour. Thank goodness for Walmart's return policy! I could barely keep my balance just SITTING in the darn thing!
I know what you mean. 👍
If I tried fishing out of my kayak my back would disown me.

I kind of ummd and ahhd about getting a tinnie, or an inflatable, or a folding boat like a porta-bote. Anyway, the tinnie that I bought was cheap enough yet in reasonable shape, and I've made a few minor mods to make it more comfortable and safe. It's ok for two up fishing in the Bay should there be a need there.

I thought about fishing from my kayak but felt it would be too uncomfortable for me and would dull the thrill of kayaking and fishing.

What kind of boat do you think might suit you best?
Well I am looking for something not too expensive. I am looking for a 2 seater and not too heavy. I like the stalker V14 fiberglass boat. But may wait to get it. Atm I have other pressing things I need to purchase.

I don't think I've ever been in a kayak

Though I have spent quite a bit of time on the ocean, and lakes, in all kinds of boats.

Been on cruise-around-the-harbor type of boats, hand made sail boats, yachts, canoes.

But mostly aluminum, like a 13 footer, and also (standard) Zodiaks.

Done a lot of fishing in my earlier years; mostly for cod and salmon.

Salmon fishing is boring compared to cod fishing LOL

And I prefer cod, anyways, even over halibut for fish and chips :D

I would strongly advise finding someone to let you test drive that first! Anything less than 4ft across the bottom isn't very stable, especially a V hull... ;)

I am thinking of going to Bass Pro shop and check out a few. Never would buy it from there though.

👀Why do I picture a row of landing lights right down the center? 😆
There is light in the body cavity... I noticed that, too!

I saw one with a maw full of octopus tentacles :giggle:

They seem all mouth and digestive tract

Aside from the tasty flesh that is haha

Watch out for the bones ;)

I don't think I could eat that. Everything about that fish carries a message, warning! Do not attempt to chew! 🤪😆

I found mine on Craigslist lol... Had been sitting a while, Needed just a little engine work but I'm handy that way. Paid $2,500 for trailer and all. You can find those tiny boats on Craigslist all the time, cheap

Huh

In nz we dont have huge fish like that
we prefer those tiny fish called whitebait that you can catch in a net, and just scoop them out of the water.
