Dear Brother/Sister?

You have need of the Holy Spirit to baptize you for you cannot SEE what the Spirit is saying in Scripture.

"Then he said, ‘The God of our fathers has appointed you to know His will, and to see the Righteous One,
and to hear His voice.
You will be His witness to everyone of what you have seen and heard.
And now what are you waiting for? Get up, be baptized, and wash your sins away, calling on His Name.’"

A.) the Righteous One = YAHshuah HaMashiach = Jesus the Christ= Savior
B.) Hear His Voice = "Today, if you hear His Voice harden not your hearts" = No one comes to Salvation unless they are called.
C.) FAITH = "what are you waiting for?"
D.) water baptism = outward expression of INNER FAITH/HEARING GOD in your heart/spirit
E.) Salvation not thru water baptism but thru "calling on His Name."

JESUS is the Alpha and the Omega = the First and the Last = the Beginning and the End

water washes pots and pans and dirt from the flesh, but only His BLOOD washes away sins
I have received the Holy Ghost.

And per the word, water baptism is to be administered in the name of the Lord Jesus.

I have received the Holy Ghost.

And per the word, water baptism is to be administered in the name of the Lord Jesus.
And per His Word = i never said it wasn't nor have i ever said 'do not' AND per His Word, i have been water baptized.
water baptized = AFTER i washed washed in His Blood and ALL my sins washed away FIRST

Now, Today, if you hear His Voice = move on from water baptism which is outward and walk in the Spirit which is inward and Eternal.

I came across a verse that reminded me of another verse that Paul said.

1 Cor 1:17 - For Christ did not send me to baptize, but to preach the gospel—not with wisdom and eloquence, lest the cross of Christ be emptied of its power.

Acts 20:21 - I have declared to both Jews and Greeks that they must turn to God in repentance and have faith in our Lord Jesus.

So, given Paul's own testimony about WHY Christ sent him: NOT to baptize, but to preach the gospel, AND what he preached in Acts 20:21, it is clear that Paul DIDN'T include water baptism as being required/necessary for salvation.

So, if you want to stay stubborn, just know that Paul gave us clear teaching that you are in direct opposition to what he taught.

The verses that you use are special cases only. They don't apply to you.

What Paul taught DOES apply to everyone.
Clearly Paul's ministry involved preaching the gospel message that included required obedience to water baptism. We know this because it is recorded that Paul administered water baptisms at times while others handled the responsibility at times.

Paul and Silas baptized the jailer and his family. (Acts 16:28-33) Upon hearing Paul's message, Lydia and her family was baptized. (Acts 16:13-15) Paul baptized Crispus the leader of the synagogue while someone else baptized members of Crispus’ household and other Corinthian believers. (Acts 18:8) Paul continued to water baptize people over 20 years after the requirement was first presented; Paul baptized during his 3rd missionary campaign. (Acts 19:1-6) Paul baptized Gaius as referenced in 1 Cor. 1:14.

Water baptism for the remission of sin applies to all the Lord shall call. (Acts 2:39) And since God is still drawing people water baptism still applies.

water baptism is not for remission of sins and never was meant to be that AND to believe that is exactly the MEANS by which the FATHER washes away our sins is HERESY

water baptism is in RESPONSE to #1 the CALL of the FATHER #2 on our HEART #3 to HEAR HIS VOICE and #4 CALL on the Name above all names = #5 the LORD Jesus Christ #6 for remission of sin and #7 to receive the Holy Spirit

Please explain to me how did Cornelius' whole household get saved and filled with the Holy Spirit BEFORE any of them even made a public confession of faith and were water baptized?

Acts 10:44-48

King James Version

44 While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word.

45 And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost.

46 For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God. Then answered Peter,

47 Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we?

48 And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then prayed they him to tarry certain days.

Truly, all that God requires from us for salvation is that we BELIEVE in the Lord Jesus Christ and HIS Works that HE has done for us for salvation.

As evidence that we BELIEVE in Jesus Christ, we will want to be water baptized and we will want to do good works but, NONE of these good works including water baptism can save us or maintain our salvation. Our salvation is in Christ alone - His Blood and Body.

To saved people. Not to save them.

Upon hearing Paul's message, Lydia and her family was baptized. (Acts 16:13-15)
Because she had believed.

Paul baptized Crispus the leader of the synagogue while someone else baptized members of Crispus’ household and other Corinthian believers. None of this supports your point.

Water baptism for the remission of sin applies to all the Lord shall call. (Acts 2:39) And since God is still drawing people water baptism still applies.
Nope. People are forgiven, saved and have the Holy Spirit all on the basis of faith in Christ.

Water baptism is symbolic of the believer's union with Christ in His death, burial and resurrection. That is all.

Well that is correct...providing you include the need for baptism as part of..."BELIEVE".
Otherwise...NO.

Wrong.

Both water baptism and receiving the Holy Ghost were required of all groups of humanity. The sequence differs, however both are necessary. (Acts 2:38-41, 8:12-18, 9:17-18, 10:43-48, 19:1-6, 22:16)

The truth regarding water baptism is not accepted by many. However, belief in the message and obedience to the command to be water baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus is for remission of sin as confirmed in the word. (Acts 2:38, 22:16...)

Many are unaware that water baptism is to be administered in the name of the Lord Jesus. Why? See Romans 6:3-6.

1 Corinthians 15:29 KJV
29Else what shall they do which are baptized for the dead, if the dead rise not at all? why are they then baptized for the dead?

After having discussed the order of the resurrection in the preceding verses, Paul immediately asked a question without directly giving the answer because it's a rhetorical question that the reader of the Bible is supposed to know the answer to. Often this verse is misinterpreted by LDS folk to mean that it's possible to perform a substitutionary water baptism for someone who has died, under the belief that water baptism is a prerequisite for eternal salvation; this part is false.

However, Paul asks these question in regards to the order of the resurrection of the righteous, not eternal salvation. Now I will give you the correct answers to Paul's rhetorical questions in plain English showing a few different Bible versions with it.

Question 1:
Else what shall they do which are baptized for the dead, if the dead rise not at all? KJV
Now if there is no resurrection, what will those do who are baptized for the dead? NIV
Otherwise, what do people mean by being baptized on behalf of the dead? ESV

Answer 1:
We can reverse engineer Paul's line of thinking here by questioning why they are getting immersed if there is no resurrection of the dead. There is a resurrection of the dead and in order to take part in the resurrection you must be water baptized. That's basically what Paul is suggesting here and I will provide numerous scriptures that support it later in this post.

Question 2:
why are they then baptized for the dead? KJV
If the dead are not raised at all, why are people baptized for them? NIV
If the dead are not raised at all, why are people baptized on their behalf? ESV

Answer 2:
This question is similar to the first question and so is the answer. The answer is that people are attempting to help deceased people by performing a water baptism for them so that they can be resurrected. There is no evidence from scripture that a substitutionary posthumous water baptism is effective to qualify a dead person for a resurrection, but there is evidence that a water baptism can provide a living person a resurrection.

After we understand these vital clues about Paul's water baptism theology, we can more accurately understand what the purpose of water baptism is he preached everywhere he went. It isn't about eternal salvation of the soul as some people think; Paul meant that water baptism is literally about becoming eligible to have an immortal resurrected body.

Paul is teaching that water baptism is literally necessary to have a resurrected body:
Romans 6:4-5 KJV
4Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
5For if we have been united with Him like this in His death, we will certainly also be united with Him in His resurrection.

Again:
Colossians 2:12
12Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead.

Again:
Galatians 3:27 KJV
27For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.

Once you understand that water baptism is about the righteous getting a resurrected body in the first resurrection, you'll understand why Paul often made water baptism less important than preaching the gospel. It is more important to save as many souls as possible with the Gospel of Christ than it is to get people into the first resurrection:

1 Corinthians 1:14-17 KJV
14I thank God that I baptized none of you, but Crispus and Gaius; 15Lest any should say that I had baptized in mine own name. 16And I baptized also the household of Stephanas: besides, I know not whether I baptized any other. 17For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect.
Maybe it's just me however,it appears #17 revokes any implication that water baptism is compulsory else one is not true in Christ and saved.

When we speak to each other, always keep in your mind that i have been water baptized as an adult and fully submerged in the Name of our LORD Jesus Christ and that i have water baptized others in His Name.
Far greater then water baptism is the Baptism of the Holy Spirit.

Scripture says othewise. It would be wise to believe Scripture.

Acts 20:21 -

The word "faith" is a noun, not a verb. So the action (verb) of baptism isn't found in the word "faith".

No, the point is that Paul DID a few baptisms but he NEVER preached it.

I guess you weren't interested in the verses I shared.

Paul WASN'T sent to baptize, but he WAS sent to preach the gospel.

If water baptism was imbedded in "gospel" the verses would be senseless.

Here is the authority ( there is no doubt) ;

Baptism is Required

Peter 3: 21.... whereunto even baptism doth also now save us...

John 3:5 .......Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

Acts 2;38-....Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Acts 22;16... And now why tarriest thou? arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of the Lord.

Galations 3:26...... For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.
27 For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.

KJV Marrk 16:16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.

KJV Matthew 3:14... But John forbad him, saying, I have need to be baptized of thee, and comest thou to me? 15. Jesus answering said unto him, Suffer it to be so now, for thus it becometh us to fulfil all rightesousness. Then He suffered Him.

KJV Matthew 28:19..... Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:.

Acts 8:12-18: But when they believed Philip as he preached the things concerning the kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ, both men and women were baptized.

Acts 19:4 And Paul said, “John baptized with the baptism of repentance, telling the people to believe in the one who was to come after him, that is, Jesus.”

John 3; 22 After these things came Jesus and his disciples into the land of Judaea; and there he tarried with them, and baptized.
23 And John also was baptizing in Aenon near to Salim, because there was much water there: and they came, and were baptized.

Quote from Billy Graham that is note worthy;
....Also, to clarify I did not say remission of sin takes place at repentance. Scripture makes it clear that it occurs upon obedience to water baptism in the name of the Lord Jesus. Each is a step of faith, along with receiving the Holy Ghost, in the process of one's spiritual rebirth

.."Paul explains the doctrinal significance of what occurs when one is baptized. His explanation is found in his letter to those who had already been obedient to the command.

Paul tells the Roman Christians what actually occurred when they were/are baptized; they were baptized into His death. Being buried with Jesus into His death resulted in their sin being destroyed.

Even though Paul explains this concept, the NEW AGE RELIGION TEACHING is......... that water baptism is nothing other than a mere public display.......... And that is so far removed from the truth.

......If you were baptized for some reason other than for forgiveness of sins in order to be ...born again... then you do not have salvation and you are still lost. Who are you going to follow: God or man? As our Lord warns us in Matthew 15:14, "And if the blind lead the blind, both will fall into a ditch." Don't allow someone, who has added to and taken away from God's word, to lead you. Open your eyes and read God's word for yourself. Those who have added to and taken away from God's word will be lost. If you continue to follow them, then you too will be lost.

Keep in mind that Satan knows if he can continue to perpetuate that lie ...... he can keep people from entering the kingdom of God. Thus He has proven scripture which says ...in the end times there will be ...great delusions.....they are here.

Conclusion....teaching that baptism is not necessary is violation of Rev. 22;19.... And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book. 20 He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus. (Also two other books of the Bible).

Why did Jesus Christ get water baptized by John the Baptist in the Jordan River?

Jesus Christ did not need to be water baptized.... He was without sin.

Are not all that we do recorded in our bodies? How do you suppose all our works are judged? They have to be recorded somehow.

All the works of righteousness that Jesus Christ fulfilled for us were recorded in His Body for us.

Jesus Christ was water baptized in the Jordan River for us. He entered into the promise to die for us, be buried for us, and rise again for us.

Likewise, when we are water baptized AFTER we believe and are saved, we enter into the same covenant with Jesus Christ..... we too will die, be buried and rise again.

However, I'm pondering if being saved is the same as being born again....

I'm thinking about what Jesus Christ said to Nicodemus...."you must be born again of the water and Spirit....."

John 3:5-6

King James Version

5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

Jesus tells us to be born again there are two...water and Spirit. Are these two the Water Baptism and the Holy Spirit Baptism?

Also, Jesus tells us unless we drink His Blood and eat His Flesh (Body) we have no part with Him. He tells us in the last supper to drink the wine as His Blood and eat the bread that is His Body broken for us.

So, now I'm wondering if being SAVED is the same as being BORN AGAIN?

SAVED by believing in Jesus Christ - His sacrifice of His Blood and Body for us.
BORN AGAIN by being baptized in Water and the Holy Spirit.

What are your thoughts? @FreeGrace2 @DavidTree

Like SAVED is being "conceived" and BORN AGAIN is like being "birthed - actually born."

We are born of water from the womb.

1Peter 3 isn't telling us baptism saves.
Womb fluid is not water. (scientific)

Wrong.

Quote from Billy Graham that is note worthy;
....Also, to clarify I did not say remission of sin takes place at repentance.

The scriptures actually refutes your false claims.

John 1:12,13
12But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: 13Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

Hello,

I’m pondering if there is a difference between being SAVED and being BORN AGAIN….

SAVED by the Blood and Body of Jesus Christ; and

BORN AGAIN by Water Baptism and Holy Spirit Baptism.

What are your thoughts?
