Luke 22:19 (KJV) And he took bread, and gave thanks, and brake it, and gave unto them, saying, This is my body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of me.
Luke 22:20 (KJV) Likewise also the cup after supper, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood, which is shed for you.
1 Corinthians 11:26 (KJV) For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord's death till he come.
Amen !
No one could know and believe this without
hearing and believing the gospel
“But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Esaias saith, Lord, who hath believed our report? So then
faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by
the word of God.”
Romans 10:16-17 KJV
if we hear the message from God and accept it as true it means what it says but not if we reject it’s meaning
“I speak as to
wise men;
judge ye what I say.
The cup of blessing which we bless,
is it not the communion of the blood of Christ?
The bread which we break,
is it not the communion of the body of Christ?
For
we being many are one bread, and
one body: for
we are all partakers of that one bread.”
1 Corinthians 10:15-17 KJV
It’s one of the things that makes Christians one in the body of Christ we partake of his body and blood it’s a church foundation
“For
as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord's death till he come. Wherefore whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink this cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord. But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup. For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord's body.”
1 Corinthians 11:26-29 KJV
if we believe this part it becomes faith and acting in faith when we partake
“as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord's death till he come.”
but if we decide that parts not true communion is a ritual ect ….it’s never going to mean anything being according to faith. Everything in the gospel is like that we have to hear about it and then understand what it means then faith will move us to act upon it
“Then Peter said unto them,
Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins,
and
ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.”
Acts 2:38
if I heard and believed that it’s faith to act if I reject it and say “ repentance and baptism doesn’t have anything to do with it “ it’s not faith to act in it
if I believe communion is what the Bible says it is it’s an act of faith for my life when I partake of communion and his sacrifice until he comes faith is where it all matters and that only comes from hearing the truth about these matters believing
What the Bible says things are is proper faith to hear and believe and then act upon those things we learn and come to understand like this
“as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord's death till he come.”
I can hear this and let it be the lords word and true , or I can reject it and explain a different thing it means
faith is when we can accept the word
