The Chosen is a Great Example of Good Christians working together to try to fulfil the Great Commission Commandment of spreading Christ's Name and His Gospel to All Nations. They aim to share the Gospel with at least 1 Billion People by the time all 7 Seasons are over. So far, they reached over 300 MN, or 30% of their target. Lets pray for the Chosen's Greater Success, and for the Gospel's Spread.

"The review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes reported that 100 percent of critics have given Season 1 a positive review based on 8 reviews, with an average rating of 8.08/10.[31]

Through August 2020, it had been viewed nearly 50 million times in 180 countries.[32] By the end of March 2021, the first season had been viewed more than 100 million times.[33] By June 2021, the series has been watched 150 million times and has been translated into 50 languages.[34]

In July 2021, The Chosen reached 200 million views worldwide.[35] By August 14, 2021, it was reported that it had crossed 300 million viewers worldwide.[36]

The series' success is attributed to artistic storytelling and cultural relevance, while staying true to the message of the gospels.[6] Writing in Film Threat, Alan Ng called the series "smart and insightful to a contemporary audience."[37]

What? Jesus talked to a Gentile woman in Matthew 15. Basically called her a dog.
And that was why it was recorded as a special exception...

@JohnDB Actually Jesus did talk to the Canaanite woman who approached Him to deliver her daughter from demon possession, right?
Millions will continue to watch this amazing series, UNashamed, and a few will not who think it's anathema.
The thing is is that a Schmeekah Rabbi couldn't talk with Gentiles...and Jesus said "I was only sent TO ISRAEL " meaning that he came for all of us but only to the Jews.

I'm not saying that the whole thing is trash....
Just that it's a very populist message...not entirely accurate and having a very humanist Jesus instead of the Jesus who really was.

On this we agree. Unfortunately millions will watch and think they're getting the true gospel.

Before my family watched a single episode of The Chosen, we watched the explanation of why it was being produced and filmed and all that. They are completely up-front and honest that not all who act or work on this show have the same beliefs, but that the plan is to stick to the Word of God as closely as possible. They're not setting out to deceive anyone.
That's all well and good but the fact is they add to the scriptures.

Think about it, they couldn't make a dime off this project if they stuck strictly to the word of Yahweh; no one would watch or invest for the same reasons they don't read the scriptures. The scriptures alone aren't exciting enough or politically correct enough.

If you researched this series then I'm sure you noticed that one of the main reasons for the whole thing is ecumenism: that is, false unity.

I don't think so necessarily. But if a person does their homework and still thinks this show was created for anything other than a money-making venture it already shows little discernment.

Its creators mix truth with fiction and call it "as close to the word of God as possible." In other words, they haven't stuck to the word of Yahweh but have added whatever was necessary to put butts in the seats and keep the investments rolling in.

If it was marketed as part truth/part fiction that would be better; but they don't. They want people to thing they're getting the true gospel.

And how long would you post in a forum if you only could post Scripture?

"The goal, Jenkins told me, was to come up with plausible scenarios that still jibe with the holy book. “We’re not trying to contradict the Bible,” he said. “We’re just trying to build a show around the Bible and tell stories that we think are compelling.” As a viewer who grew up attending church and has made studying scripture a central part of my adult life, I’ve found this approach consistently rewarding. Watching The Chosen is no substitute for reading the Bible—a disclaimer at the start of Season 1 even says “viewers are encouraged to read the Gospel.” But by putting another layer of human perspective between its viewers and its source material, The Chosen performs some of the functions of a good Bible teacher, providing cultural context for ancient events and probing viewers to empathize with the characters."

Mat_7:5 Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye.
Mat_5:37 But let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: for whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil.
1Co_14:34 Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience, as also saith the law.
Joh_8:7 So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.

Seriously? That's a flashing billboard saying: "We're not telling you the truth."

". . .useless wranglings of men of corrupt minds and destitute of the truth, who suppose that godliness is a means of gain. From such withdraw yourself."—1 Timothy 6:5

". . .teaching things which they ought not, for the sake of dishonest gain."—Titus 1:11

"For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables."—2 Timothy 4:3-4

I read posts in this site adding to the scripture with the excuse sounding something like 'I am taught of the Holy Spirit! '
There are thread titles that add to the Scripture do we throw out the baby with the bath ?
Do we look for
Php 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

Deu_5:8 Thou shalt not make thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the waters beneath the earth

Any one have photos of tress, mountains, streams, stars, sunsets ,beautiful moon glowing on the water? IF it is ok today because of Grace then extend that Grace to our brothers.

Ok, Jesus didn't talk with Gentiles. Never!

Which is it? He NEVER spoke to Gentiles or there was an exception and He spoke to a Gentile?? You made an absolute statement that wasn't true. For all we know, Jesus spoke to lots of Gentiles.

John 21:25
And there are also many other things which Jesus did, the which, if they should be written every one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that should be written. Amen”

As a schmeekah rabbi it was forbidden. Messengers and intermediaries were used to accomplish anytime this did happen.
Also, Jesus did a lot of things that were considered "forbidden" or taboo. Such as speaking to the Samaritan woman alone, at the well. Where were his messengers or intermediaries there?

"the start of Season 1 even says “viewers are encouraged to read the Gospel.”
Seriously? That's a flashing billboard saying: "We're not telling you the truth."
Is it, though? If I tell someone who has never heard the Bible a portion of it and then tell them, "I encourage you to read the gospel", should that be a red flag that I'm lying?? Or is it just an encouragement to get into the Word and read the truth for themselves?
