Methinks English is the most difficult language in the world. I study English as a foreign language. I try to communicate with native speakers online because it is the best way to learn. But I still make many mistakes, and I can't draw the difference between British and American. In my mind, both versions of the language are mixed up. In addition to English, I am also learning Portuguese. I bought just one dictionary with which I learn it https://www.amazon.com/Portuguese-Frequency-Dictionary-Vocabulary-Dictionaries/dp/9492637618/. My progress is encouraging. I found Portuguese easier than English. There are too many nuances in English.
Your English writing is better than many Americans'. Bravo dude / dudette. I particularly got a kick out of "methinks" :D

In Indonesia, English is known as a language with the most complicated grammar ever
(i mean what other languages have 16 tenses in it?!)

therefore i decided to create a thread where you HAVE TO speak with wrong grammar lol

i know this doesn't make sense, but i thought that it would be interesting :D
3I believe Spanish has an equal if not greater number of verb tenses. Let me know if you find out.

Capitalizing without a period, as well as failing to insert a period after the word ‘end’.
Tsk, tsk…(the grammar police strike again).

For a little moment I was fixing to deploy the grammar task force on your post, but then I saw that your name is crossnote and I realized it was but a joke.😂

Your English writing is better than many Americans'.
I am questioning the use of an apostrophe after the word "Americans." Had the word "Americans" been followed by another subject/noun or verb, there would be no question as to its appropriateness :geek: And I realize the subject is assumed there. Still, however, and yet, without any such subject being explicitly articulated, is the apostrophe necessary? Given that apostrophes are terribly over-used and abused, I must object. People applying them to simple pluralizations causes me pangs of conscience to so assiduously question the intelligence of one doing so frequently. This is simply a general observation, meaning, I am not suggesting that you, Gojira, are guilty of this unnecessary practice entailing the needlessly excessive use of the simple apostrophe ;):giggle::geek:

Poets care naught for your grammar rules
They consider them fit for only hidebound fools

Without the rules a poet drifts aimlessly until landing on his own island, talking to himself.

A large number of the commenters on this site have horrible English skills, and I'm betting some of them are native-english speakers. A result, IMO, of the decline of our educational system and all of the lazy abbreviating that comes with texting.
It's worse than that. People just don't care to get the details right, they think close is close enough (thank you liberal participation trophies and self-esteem indoctrination). But if they can't be bothered to be smart about little things like spelling and grammar, I have to question whether they are smart enough to engage in big things like politics and social commentary.

Oh the freaking Moody Blues... masters of goosebump-inducing melodies. I need to pick that album up. Haven't heard that tune in YEARS.
One of the first LPs I ever bought. After the majesty of that, I doubt I ever went back to buying 45s... :D

Loved the Moody Blues. Taught myself many of their songs, and saw them in concert five times :)

Stevie Ray Vaughn opened up for them one of those times

It was an odd pairing ;):giggle:

They think they are. God knows they think everyone needs to benefit from their apparent enlightenment.
