I was really excited today when I made my post on Matthew and I was hoping to get some feedback. Please let you what you think is right and what I might have missed the mark on. I know I just posted it a few hours ago. I am looking for interaction on what verses and passages mean. How what is going on in the country today plays into Jesus' return. Thanks KenA

Would it not have been better to post this in/to the thread you are referring to?

You might be right. We can find a chat room anywhere I came here because I am new, I am looking for input on what I am learning is right, is it wrong, is there a better way of doing it. I was surprised at what I found. I will ask you the question that Matthew asks all christians: Do you understand "The abomination of desolation, spoken of by the prophet Danial. I am trying to but I am not sure if I am getting it right, that is why I am asking for help.

Yes - I believe that I understand it quite well...

Be warned that this is a very hot topic with many views on here as to its proper interpretation.

If you study it very carefully, you will discover that the [real, actual] AoD is an event that occurred in the distant past - not a future event like most people are taught.

What is the question?

What do you mean by the distant past. I thought Matthew 24 was talking future. The deciples asked when will this be? Please explain where I have gone wrong.

Dear Brother GaryA, i agree with you in part as i believe the AoD will take place again as the first Temple was destroyed and yet at the same time there was create in Genesis a Temple made for God to dwell in that remains.

The Scripture/Bible records for us that there were two Temples built (of stone) in which the Spirit of God and/or His Presence would be found amongst the People of God, the seed of Abraham who were under the first Covenant.

There was only One Single Temple to be built and it had only One Location = Jerusalem, in Israel.

Long story short: #1 The first Temple was destroyed by God thru the Babylonians because of the unrelenting sin and rebellion of the Jewish People against God.
#2 the Temple was rebuilt for fulfillment of Prophecy that the LORD would appear in the Temple in Jerusalem.
This was fulifilled as the LORD Jesus Christ did in fact appear in the Temple in Jerusalem.

There is a 3rd Temple, which is the Original Temple created by God in Genesis.

That Temple is man who was created for fellowship with God and for the indwelling of God's Holy Spirit.

The LORD Jesus Christ is the 3rd Temple FULFILLMENT of Genesis for the Spirit of God.

"do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s." 1 Cor 6:19-20

Coming to Him as to a living stone, rejected indeed by men, but chosen by God and precious,
you also, as living stones, are being built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. Therefore it is also contained in the Scripture,

“Behold, I lay in Zion
A chief cornerstone, elect, precious,
And he who believes on Him will by no means be put to shame.”
Therefore, to you who believe, He is precious; but to those who [are disobedient,
“The stone which the builders rejected
Has become the chief cornerstone,”
and
“A stone of stumbling
And a rock of offense.”
They stumble, being disobedient to the word, to which they also were appointed
But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; who once were not a people but are now the people of God, who had not obtained mercy but now have obtained mercy.

CORRECTION MADE: Dear Brother GaryA, i agree with you in part as i believe the AoD has taken place again as the first Temple was destroyed and yet at the same time there was created in Genesis a Temple made for God to dwell in that remains.

This Temple of God, man, will embrace in his body the AoD which is the Mark of the Beast as clearly stated in Revelation.

Whoever receives the Mark of the Beast in their bodies, commits the unforgiveable sin and cannot be forgiven just as Revelation warns.

The passage - in general - is talking about future events. However, the AoD reference is just that - it is only a reference - to a [single occurrance of a] past event - in order that the Jews would be able to understand when they saw it about to happen again. It is not a prediction about a future event.

To help you understand it properly (as much as possible), I will make additional posts...

Some of them will point you to posts I have already made that contain explanations that should help you.

In the meanwhile, take a look at this webpage:

If you study the AoD at length, you will at some point have to consider the parenthetical statements in the Matthew and Mark accounts of the Olivet Discourse.

They are 'key' to gaining the proper perspective on this...

You are you are working in the right direction. Just keep going chapter by chapter verse by verse. I have seen some of your posts. I am going to go deep on you here and as pastor says if you don't get it know just put it on the shelf.
Matthew 24:22And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened. Those days have been shortened to 5 months. Yes I will prove that right here
Revelation 9:1And the fifth angel sounded, and I saw a star fall from heaven unto the earth: and to him was given the key of the bottomless pit. 2And he opened the bottomless pit; and there arose a smoke out of the pit, as the smoke of a great furnace; and the sun and the air were darkened by reason of the smoke of the pit. 3And there came out of the smoke locusts upon the earth: and unto them was given power, as the scorpions of the earth have power. 4And it was commanded them that they should not hurt the grass of the earth, neither any green thing, neither any tree; but only those men which have not the seal of God in their foreheads. 5And to them it was given that they should not kill them, but that they should be tormented five months: and their torment was as the torment of a scorpion, when he striketh a man. 6And in those days shall men seek death, and shall not find it; and shall desire to die, and death shall flee from them.
7And the shapes of the locusts were like unto horses prepared unto battle; and on their heads were as it were crowns like gold, and their faces were as the faces of men. 8And they had hair as the hair of women, and their teeth were as the teeth of lions. 9And they had breastplates, as it were breastplates of iron; and the sound of their wings was as the sound of chariots of many horses running to battle. 10And they had tails like unto scorpions, and there were stings in their tails: and their power was to hurt men five months. 11And they had a king over them, which is the angel of the bottomless pit, whose name in the Hebrew tongue is Abaddon, but in the Greek tongue hath his name Apollyon.
12One woe is past; and, behold, there come two woes more hereafter.

Have not the seal of God in their forehead. What is in or behind your forehead? It is your brain. What is this seal of God? It is to know the order of the trumpets, the seals and the vials. The most important thang to know is that Satan shows up at the 6th trump, the 6th seal 6th vial: 666 Satan's number. Thank about this if someone came up to you and said we have to put this 666 mark on you would you really let them. Just thank on it.
One more thing to thank about if Satan comes at the 6th trump and Jesus comes at the 7th trump do not let anyone take you down the rapture road. No one is flying anyplace Jesus is coming here.
