The women could not come to the tomb on Saturday the weekly Sabbath but had to wait until the first day of the week, Sunday. The third day would be on Saturday right before 6pm (which would be the beginning of Sunday). What Jesus did for those 12 hours is a mystery. He had already been risen when the women showed up at the tomb. He may have stayed in the tomb a while and prayed. That's all speculation.

You've got it backwards. If there was a high Sabbath, then that would be Friday, and Jesus was crucified and buried on Thursday. In Luke 23:26, the verse you quoted, spices and oils were prepared on Preparation Day.
Also, the tomb was EMPTY. First an angel rolled away the stone, Mary examined it, and then Peter and John examined it, nobody was in there. It's no speculation, it's a lie.
Jesus had already been resurrected well before the stone was rolled away. The stone was rolled away just to show witnesses that there was no body to be found.
Why must the high Sabbath fall on a Friday? Fridays are a day of preparation for the weekly Sabbath. That doesn't line up.
Because first of all, to avoid confusion, only 12-hour daytime is counted as a day by biblical definition; second, any portion of a day is considered a day, it doesn't have to be full 12 hours.
Actually, the evening and morning make up a day, 24 hour period. The 24 hour period is divided into day and night. One has to know the context. Sometimes the word day is a reference to only the daylight hours, 6am - 6pm, while other times it is meaning the entire 24 hour day, 6pm - 6pm.
Genesis 1
5 And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.
13 And the evening and the morning were the third day.
Evening = night
Day = light
Altogether = 1 day
That's the confusion. By this definition, only 12 hour daytime is counted as a day. If a night is not mentioned, then it's assumed to be the night that precedes the day.
Therefore, we are working with three days and three nights...three 24 hour periods.
I've already shown you all the verses that clearly stated ON THE THIRD DAY, not the fourth day.

And, no, you cannot put forward Genesis as "definitive" regarding when a day begins.
In Genesis, God creates, then there was evening, then there was morning (Dawn). That is a day.

Sunday began at 6pm on Saturday. Mary arrived at the tomb on Sunday morning.
No one had witnessed the resurrected Christ before that Sunday morning. I will repeat again, Sunday began at sunset on Saturday.
Here is the important point. Because no one knows the time of the resurrection, to attempt to guess that time is impossible.
All we have is the time that Jesus was observed to have risen by the disciples. Jesus was first witnessed to have risen, well over halfway through that Sunday. Jesus rose well into the third day.
You are of the opinion that the first day of Unleavened Bread is a Sabbath day of rest, no work!
You need to read the text properly.
Leviticus 23:7
On the first day you shall have a holy convocation; you shall not do any laborious work.
The Bible student will notice that the first day of Unleavened Bread is not called a Sabbath.
The second point, the Bible student will see the difference between, a day of no work and a day of no laborious work.
You can conduct light duties, light work, on the first day of Unleavened Bread. You can prepare food on the first day of Unleavened Bread.
All work and including cooking is prohibited on the Sabbath. Failure to comply is a death sentence.
Read the text carefully.
Jesus was not crucified on a Sabbath day. Jesus was crucified on the preparation day for the Sabbath.

It was a preparation day, and a Sabbath was about to begin.
